The instructor's manual contains a brief introduction, suggestions for using the manual, a list of required equipment and materials, all the information provided in the course's student manual, and instructor notes for each of the course's slides and exercises. The learning module topics are as follows:(1) the hazards of lead-contaminated dust;(2) talking to clients and, planning work;(3) setting up a workspace to contain dust; (4) safe work practices; and (5) cleaning up and checking all work. -

HACCP INTERNATIONAL FOOD-SAFE EQUIPMENT, MATERIALS and SERVICES List of certified products by manufacturer FZP (Food Zone Primary) items are suitable for use in the food zone and are suitable for contact with food. Examples of products that may be classified FZP: Disposable gloves, probe thermometers, conveyor belts, piping bags, utensils, cutting boards, servingware, ice making equipment, carcass tags, baking paper, food storage containers. FZS (Food Zone Secondary) items are suitable for touching food contact surfaces but are not expected to touch food during normal conditions of use. Examples of products that may be classified FZS: Cleaning cloths and non-woven wipes, scour pads, hard surface sanitisers, drum covers, brush-ware, food packaging labels, washing-up detergent. SSZ (Splash or Spill Zone) items are suitable for use in food handling areas such as kitchens, production areas and processing areas, but are not suitable for coming directly into contact with food or items that will touch food. Examples of products that may be classified SSZ: Floor mats, hand-soap dispensers, rapid-closing doors, light fittings, extraction hoods, mops, floor surfacing materials, hair nets, insect control units. NFZ (Non Food Zone) items are items that are suitable for use in and around food handling facilities and that make a contribution to food safety but that are not suitable for use in areas where open (unpackaged) food is handled. Lead-Safe Weatherization A Training and Reference Manual For Weatherization Crews Original Printing October 2001 Revised Edition November, 2003 Developed under contract with the U.S. Department of Energy By Montana State University Extension Service Housing Program and Weatherization Training Center, Bozeman, Montana LEAD SAFE WEATHERIZATION GUIDANCE Nebraska Energy Office March 1, 2002 The Nebraska Energy Office has developed this guidance to minimize the exposure of weatherization workers and residents to lead dust during the weatherization process in homes constructed prior to 1978. Introduction Lead is a poison. The primary source of lead in homes is interior and exterior paints and varnishes used before 1978. The primary source of lead poisoning is lead dust. Lead can easily be inhaled or ingested into the body where it accumulates in the bones after circulating through the body. Lead can negatively effect every major system of the body and is particularly harmful to children and pregnant women. When weatherization workers disturb surfaces that may have lead-based paint, they must exercise caution to keep any dust that is generated from becoming a hazard to the clients, to themselves or to their families. Lead safe weatherization practices can reduce the risk of lead poisoning in the homes of weatherization clients and weatherization workers.
