The competition will be conducted in accordance with A.S.A. Laws. 2. The Decision of the referees shall in all cases be final. 3. All events will start at the time stated in the programme unless otherwise announced. 4. It is the responsibility of the House Officials to ensure that the competitors are on time. Competitors failing to report for the event on time are liable to be disqualified. 5. Competitors shall report to the chief official at the marshaling area 10 minutes before the event is due to start. 6. Competitors must wear house distinguishing colored caps issued by the school throughout all events. 7. A House which is disqualified will not receive any point for that event. 8. No competitor should take part in more than 3 events in House Championships. (Not including Medley Relay, Freestyle Relay and Open Event.) 9. Three calls will be made in English and Chinese for competitors to report to the chief official for each particular event. Competitors who fail to report by the final call will be disqualified. 10. Competitors are to remain in the water after each event until the off-water permission is given. 11. Prizes will be awarded to the three Competitors who have finished First, Second, Third in each individual event. 12. Relays - Each house is allowed to nominate ONE TEAM in each grade. 14. Failure to report for Events: Each house will receive a penalty of each failure to turn-up, 0.2 point will be deducted from the grand total. This does not apply to relays, where a substitute may be made owing to injury or illness. Any such substitute must be reported to the Recording Table and Marshall between the first and second calls for that event. Medical certificate of illness and injury will be accepted up to five minutes before the start of the Swimming Gala. 15. In turning and finishing, the competitor must touch the end of the pool with any part of his body. (2) Breast Stroke (A) From the beginning of the first arm stroke after the start and after each turn, the body shall be kept on the breast, and shoulders shall be in line with the normal water surface. (B) At all times all movements of the arms shall be simultaneous and in the same horizontal plane without alternating movements. (C) Hand shall be pushed forward together with the breast, and shall be brought back on or under the surface of water. Except at the start and at the turns, the hand shall not be brought back beyond the hip line. (D) At all times all movement of the legs shall be simultaneous and in the same horizontal plane without alternating movements. (E) In the leg kick, the feet must be turned outwards in the backward movement. Movements in form of a "flutter kick" or a "dolphin kick" are not permitted. Breaking the surface of the water with the feet is allowed unless followed by a downward movement in form of a "dolphin kick ". (F) At each turn and upon the finish of the race, the touch shall be made with both hands simultaneously, either at, above, or below the water level.
