Dear Parishioners and Friends of Saint Peter Catholic Church, This pandemic has been a difficult time for everyone, especially those who have not been able to attend Mass I pray all is well with you as we exit the Christmas here at St. Peter Catholic Church. Bishop Hying has given Season, with the celebration of the Baptism of the Lord, and permission for Fr. Grant and the staff to bring Holy begin the first week of Ordinary Time. It is a beautiful and wonderful reminder of how close our Lord wants to come to us, so that we may share in His own divine life.

I am grateful to report I have returned safely from the wedding I celebrated last weekend in Pennsylvania. It was a truly beautiful wedding with a great and faithful couple. Thank you to those parishioners who prayed for my safety during my travels and for those involved in the wedding. Starting this Tuesday, January 12th, I will be back in the office after ending my precautionary quarantine. We will resume our regular parish schedule starting on Tuesday.

Finally, it continues to be very evident that we need to pray for our country. May we continue to pray for peace, honesty, virtue, an end to divisiveness, and healing for our nation. In addition to our civic responsibilities, we also have the responsibility to grow in personal virtue and holiness. To recognize the spiritual battle that is present in all our lives, as well as in our nation and our world. Recent events in our nation are certainly a tangible result of the reality of the spiritual battle between good and evil being played out all around us.

I have been including the St. Michael prayer in the weekly parish e-mail the past couple months but also wanted to include it here for those interested. It is a powerful prayer when used for spiritual protection.

"Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil; May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; And do thou, O Prince A Message from Deacon Todd

of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all of my friends at Satan and all evil spirits who wander through the world for the St. Peters. ruin of souls. Amen." I know that you have not seen much of me during this May the Lord continue to guide and protect you this Christmas season and know that I miss being with you. Please know of my prayers for each one of you at every celebration of the Mass at Saint Peter Catholic Some of you may recall when I had my right knee replaced in Church. 2011. Now my left knee is showing painful signs of needed attention. There is considerable pain when moving that has Peace, sidelined me for most activities.

Fr. Grant On Tuesday, 12/29, I underwent an MRI to assess the AMDG damage and plan a treatment. I’ll be sure to let you know what the plan will be.

I am able to contact folks by phone, text or email. If you know of a parishioner that needs some encouragement or just some conversation please let me know. Phone or text: (608)358- 3331 or email: [email protected]

Please remember me in your prayers. I wish you Grace & Peace.
