VESTRY IN BRIEF

At the February meeting of Vestry, the following items were of note: • The treasurer presented a report showing our financial situation has been particularly affected by the decrease in interest rates. There was considerable debate on our running costs and David Hoskins is facilitating a small working group to look at areas where cost savings can be made.

• To save money, shrubs or a tree may be planted instead of erecting a fence to screen off the cottage. Other cost-cutting suggestions included removing the hedge along the fence line and fund raising to landscape the garden so it is low maintenance. Please let vestry know how you feel about the possible removal of the hedge.

• The vicarage renovations are progressing satisfactorily; the bathroom is completed and work has started on the kitchen area.

• The AGM is on Sunday March 14th after the 10.30 pm service.
