ROSARY -Your Social Action Committee All are invited to recite the rosary after the 9:00 Mass. For those who can stay longer, the Chaplet of Divine Mercy is also recited. *The rosary will also be recited in the grotto at 7pm for the month of September. Our Adult Faith Formation committee is over 20 years old. Its primary focus is to provide ongoing education and evangelization to the members of our parish. In that time, we have offered over 125 different programs; some topics have been repeated. Some have been movies on faith related topics; some have been live speakers; most are DVDs; some are Scripture study; some are faith sharing. This year we would be offering two ‘mini-retreats’, one prior to Advent and one prior to Lent. We offered the retreats two years ago and they were well attended and appre- ciated by those in attendance. However, this year they will be live in the Church auditorium. The main reason we have chosen these two topics because we think most people have ‘lost’ the meaning of Advent and Lent. This year we will have Megan Murphy to offer reflections on Mary as Mother and her sacrifices for our Advent retreat; we will also have Msgr. Majores who will offer reflections on mercy and forgiveness prior to Lent. Again, these will be live and in the Church auditorium- actually, God is in charge and we have free will and need to respond in prayer and sacrifice and fasting. Join us for our first program next weekend 10/2 at 9:30 AM in the school cafeteria and bring some friends. Join us for our meetings the first Wednesday of every month at our Adult Faith Formation Committee meetings which are back to live. If you can’t, send us your ideas to [email protected]

St. pray for us.

“Suicidal individuals—with or without a terminal illness—typically do not want to die… The patient requesting assisted suicide is often asking, ‘Does anyone want me to be alive, or care enough to talk me out of this request and support me through this difficult time?’” “Can anyone help me?” Another way or phrasing the question is ‘does anyone out there love me?’; God loves them and if they only had a relationship with God, they would know. The second great commandment is ‘love your neighbor as yourself’…sounds crazy!? Not! Christ is in us; we are created in His image and likeness and we need to look at the ‘Christ’ in each person, even those we don’t like or hate, including ourselves. Suicide is not the end of problems, it is the beginning of more problems for those left behind. We need to reach out and help. As with abortion; as with euthanasia, loss of respect for life facilitates killing oneself as a morally relativized ‘solution’ to one’s problems and it never is. , pray for us.
