MEDBOURNE PARISH COUNCIL Ragwort in Leviathan Wood: The Estates Manager for owners of the wood has been contacted due to growth of ragwort. He will arrange for it’s removal and implement a th three year programme to eradicate this poisonous plant in the spring. At the meeting held on Monday 5 September 2011 the following items of interest to the village were discussed: 30mph Speed Limit signs on Road: As the signs appear to have been hit by passing vehicles obscuring the speed limit on this stretch of road this will be reported to Speed Gun: The monthly report from PC Andy Cooper had been received giving the the Highways Dept. outcome of speed monitoring in the vicinity of villages taking part in the scheme, including Medbourne, and the action taken against a number of offending drivers.

Concern was expressed that drivers had only been booked when speeds exceeded 40mph, the remainder being given a warning and in some instances a donation to a charity being requested. This will be taken up with PC Andy Cooper.
