SEEING STARS: Kyrie Irving (starter), LeBron James (starter) and Kevin Love (reserve) have been selected to the Eastern Conference roster in the 2017 NBA All-Star Game. This will be the first time the Cavs will have multiple starters in the event and the third time that three Cavs players have been selected to an All-Star roster (Brad Daugherty, Larry Nance and Mark Price in 1989 and 1993).

CHARGE SQUEEZE OUT SCHOOL DAY WIN OVER RED CLAWS: The Canton Charge (15-11), powered by the Cleveland Cavaliers, defeated the Maine Red Claws (18-10), 106-98, on Wednesday afternoon in front of 3,512 at the Memorial Civic Center for School Day presented by McDonald’s.

Canton was led by Chris Evans scoring 27 points with seven boards and four steals in 39 minutes. Eric Moreland posted his tenth double-double, netting 17 points with 15 rebounds and two blocks in 35 minutes. Quinn Cook added 17 points in 36 minutes, while John Holland tallied 15 points and three steals in 37 minutes.

The Red Claws were paced by Abdel Nader’s 31 points on 10-of-16 shooting with nine rebounds and two blocks in 37 minutes. Jalen Jones added a double-double of 21 points and 10 boards in 42 minutes for Maine. Dallas Lauderdale scored 10 points, grabbed six rebounds and blocked three shots in 27 minutes.

The Charge will host the Fort Wayne Mad Ants (Indiana Pacers) on Saturday, January 28th at 7:00 p.m. The Canton Charge are part of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Quicken Loans Arena organization and also owned by a group led by Cavaliers Majority Owner and Quicken Loans Founder and Chairman Dan Gilbert. THE CAVS ON LA MEGA 87.7 FM: Veteran broadcaster Rafael Hernández Brito, known as Rafa "El Alcalde", continues to bring his high-energy play-by-play style to each game in Spanish on the Cavaliers broadcast on LA MEGA 87.7 FM. La Mega 87.7 FM will continue to broadcast all 82 regular season games and all preseason and postseason games in Spanish. The 2016-17 season is the third in franchise history that Cavaliers games are covered in a second language.

Each Cavaliers broadcast begins with a 15-minute pregame show, hosted by Hernández Brito, which sets the scene for the game, including the latest news about the Cavs and the NBA. Following the game broadcast, he also hosts the postgame show, which features a complete recap with highlights and postgame commentary.

Nationally, Hernández Brito’s broadcasting experience includes 8 years as the voice of NFL football for Spanish Broadcasts on Univision from 2005 to 2013, and he has worked 11 Super Bowls. THE CAVALIERS 13TH ANNUAL BLACK HERITAGE CELEBRATION PRESENTED BY HENNESSY: The Cleveland Cavaliers 13th annual Black Heritage Celebration (BHC) presented by Hennessy tips off on Wednesday, February 1st at the Cavs vs. Minnesota Timberwolves game at Quicken Loans Arena at 7:00 p.m. The BHC, a salute to Black History Month in February, recognizes the extraordinary past achievements of African Americans throughout history and celebrates those making a difference in the Cleveland community today.

The special night will begin a month-long celebration themed “Empowering and Inspiring One Generation to the Next.” Each theme night will honor African American visionaries and pioneers who inspired the youth of today. Featured will be the stories of NASA’s Annie Easley and Dr. Guy Bluford; Cuyahoga Community College’s year-long educational program about the achievements of Carl and Louis Stokes; and the great Muhammad Ali. The BHC will also provide young professionals with an ultimate learning experience through the Marcus Graham Project marketing workshop.

“The Cavaliers continue the tradition of the Black Heritage Celebration with a program built to honor African American visionaries of the past, spark conversation about the future and recognize those determined to make an impact today for the betterment of coming generations,” said Campy Russell, Cavaliers Legend and BHC committee leader.

Throughout the Black Heritage Celebration, the Cavs will showcase inspiring moments in African American history through interviews with Cavs players and legends, and special halftime tributes and performances.
