EEQOL works to involve local people and groups in strategic planning and transport decision-making alongside Sheffield City Council, Sheffield Health, Rotherham Council, the Highways Agency, the Passenger Transport Executive, Meadowhall/Stadium Developments and others. The Initiative uses the new approach of ‘health impact assessments’ to develop this work, looking at the possible effects on the wellbeing of local communities of current and future planning and transport developments in the Lower Don Valley. The East End Quality of Life Initiative was established under the auspices of the East End Strategy Group. The project Steering Group is a sub-group of the East End Strategy Group.
