Rose Island Lighthouse "Historic Lighthouse"

The Rose Island Lighthouse is a historic lighthouse built in 1869, and is an independent building that operated for over 100 years as a watchtower for the boats and ships sailing past the coast. Restored to its 1912 authentic decor complete with furnishings, furniture and accessories, it is now a local museum that offers a glimpse into the maritime history as well as by b52_Tresa local culture of the colonial town of Newport. Tours of the lighthouse are available with an admission fee of USD5 for adults and USD4 for kids. The lighthouse is available for visit from July 1st - Labor Day from 10am to 4pm. Fort Adams State Park "Military Stone Fortress"

Established in the early 19th Century, Fort Adams sits at the harbor of Newport Bay. At the time of its construction, it was the largest of its kind in the United States, envisioned by the U.S. Navy as one of the key features of the defenses set up to safeguard the Area. Previously a US Navy and US Army base, the site was later acquired by by Kenneth C. Zirkel the government in 1965 and revamped to be used as a state park. The Elms "Historic Mansion"

The Elms was built in 1901 as the "summer cottage" of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Julius Berwind and eventually became known as another summer residence for the burgeoning population of the nouveaux riches at the turn of 20th Century. Modeled after the mid 18th-century château d'Asnieres outside Paris, The Elms showcases the Berwind's collections of by Minarae art and ceramics. Marble House "Newport Historic Mansion"

You cannot find a better example of The Gilded Age than the on Bellevue Avenue in Newport. It was built as a summer cottage between 1888 and 1892 for Mr. and Mrs. William K. Vanderbilt. This stone palace set the tone for social and architectural change in the former wooden house summer colony of Newport. Designed by architect Richard by Matt Howry Morris Hunt, Marble House was an inspiration from the Trianon at Versailles. The cost of the house at that time was said to be $11 million.

Touro Synagogue "America's Oldest Synagogue"

Dedicated in 1763, Touro Synogogue is America's oldest synagogue. Descendants of Sephardim from Spain and Portugal seeking freedom from persecution founded the congregation in 1658. Peter Harrison, a known colonial architect, designed the synagogue. It is one of the best examples of 18th-century architecture in America. Friday services are held by Kenneth C. Zirkel in the synagogue at 6p in winter, and 7p in summer. Saturday services are at 8:45a. Tours are conducted every half-hour Monday through Friday; in winter, tours are Friday at 1p and Sunday from 11a-3p. Donations accepted.

Redwood Library & Athenaeum "America's Oldest Lending Library"

A quiet pause in a busy day can be found in the restful green trim and polished mahogany of the Redwood Library and Athenaeum. Founded in 1747 on the principle of establishing good for mankind, and designed by American architect Peter Harrison, it is the oldest lending library and the first public classical building in America. Chepstow "Italianate Villa Mansion"

Chepstow is a black-shuttered Newport mansion designed after an Italian villa. You will find the 19th-century collections of art, paintings, furnishings and documents of the Newport Morris family indicative of Newport mansion owners and the wealth of the times. Chateau-sur-Mer "High Victorian Design Villa"

The Chateau-sur-Mer is the first "palace" of Newport mansions. The lavish affairs held on the grounds marked the beginning of Newport high society until the appearance of the Vanderbilt family in the 1890s. High Victorian design in furnishings, paintings, wallpaper and decorations in this villa set the backdrop for former balls, picnics, teas and major Newport society by exfordy events. In the 1870s the famed architect Richard Morris Hunt remodeled the home in the Second French Empire Style.

Rosecliff "Filming, and Newport's Largest Ballroom"

Green Animals Topiary Garden "Topiary Garden & Victorian Home"
