Sarvatobhadra Chakra
SARVATOBHADRA CHAKRA Sarvatobhadra Chakra Sarvatah means “everywhere” or “entirely”. Bhadra means “auspicious” or “well”.Sarvatobhadra chakra is a chart that shows all-round well-being and all kinds of auspicious and inauspicious results. Mantreswara's "Phala Deepika", chapter XXVI. a chapter allotted in this book to Nakshatra Gochara, Vedhas, Latta etc., principal items in the Sarvatobhadra-chakra methodology. The mere fact that a highly condensed treatise as "Phala Deepika" has allotted half a chapter covering most of the rules and regulations of this chakra illustrates the importance attached to it. The Sarvatobhadra-chakra is mostly used for following purposes: - For predicting the price-ranges of various commodities, metals, stocks etc. etc.. - For predicting the future of nations (political astrology), results of battles etc. - For predicting the events concerning a native's future. Basics of Sarvatobhadra Chakra: - Most of the Nakshatra based chakras depend on a zodiac of 27 Nakshatras, so they are trigonal because the number 27 has only the divisors 3 and 9. - Sarvatobhadra Chakra is drawn in a rectangle of 9 * 9 = 81 fields. Abhijit plays a key role and gives rise to a rectangular Nakshatra chart, composed of 4 * 7 = 28 basic fields. SARVATOBHADRA CHAKRA SARVATOBHADRA CHAKRA PHALADEEPIKA, CHAPTER 26 THE USE OF SARVATOBHADRA CHAKRA Effects of transits of the various planets and constellations 1. Among all the Lagnas, the Moon's Lagna (Chandra Lagna or the sign in which the Moon is posited), is most important for assessing the effects of transits (Gocharaphalam). It is, therefore, imperative to make predictions about effects of the transits of planets through various signs from the sign occupied by the Moon. -

Mantreswara's Phala Deepika
MANTRESWARA'S PHALA DEEPIKA English Translation, Commentary and annotation by Dr. G. S. Kapoor Preface Shri Mantreswara's 'Phaladeeplka' holds a most distinguished position amongst the great ancient astrological classics alongwith Brihat Parasara Hora Sastra, Varahmihira's Brihat Jataka and Vaidya Natha's Jataka Parijata. It deals in a most comprehensive and authoritative manner with almost all the astrological aspects of human life. There can be said to be nothing that this great work has omitted from its purview. Some of the important subjects dealt with in a lucid manner in the book are: description and characteristic features of the various signs, planets and bhavas (houses), the various kinds of strengths of planets and their awasthas with their effects, sources of livelihood, yogas or planetary combinations leading to affluence and poverty, effects of planets in different houses, effects of different Ascendants, Female horoscopy, matters relating to matrimony and progeny determination of longevity, judgment of houses, various kinds of Dasas and their effects, Ashtakavarga and its importance in the judging of effects of transit of planets, transit effects of planets and constellations, and description and influence of upagrahas. The author of this book Shri Mantreswara is believed to have lived in the 13th century when this valuable work must have been compiled. It is said that he belonged to a family of Namboodari Brahmins and he was born in tirinevelley District of the erstwhile Madras Presidency (now known as Tamil Nadu). He was a devotee of Sukuntlambki Devi. As a young man his name was Markandeya Bhattadri. To attain knowledge he is said to have travelled to far off places like Badrika Ashram in Himalayas and Mithila Pradesh - By sheer dint of hard work and devotion, he became well versed in the Vedanta philosophy and in the knowledge of other sastras, and by severe observance of fast, penance and meditation, he became gifted with divine knowledge and assumed the name of Mantreswara. -
Introduction to Vedic Astrology
Introduction to Vedic Astrology Pt. Sanjay Rath, Paramaguru, SJC w Sri Jagannath Centre w 15B Gangaram Hospital Road, New Delhi 110060 • +91 11 25717162, +91 11 25717162, http://srijagannath.org Academic Director, JIVA • Jagannath Institute of Vedic Astrology w P.O. Basic Vedic Astrology Perhaps the first step in Vedic Astrology is to discard the idea that it is some kind of a superstition. Astrology is composed of two words "Astro" referring to the study of celestial bodies and phenomena and "Logos" meaning the logical application of this scientific study. Vedic refers to the period of the writing of the Vedas and the codification of the data from the Brighu's (database created across India in the form of Brighu Samhita having records of various birth charts and their life events). Thus, Vedic Astrology refers to the method of Astrology as studied and practised in India since time immemorial. The principal exponent of this is Maharishi Parasara whose writings in the monumental classic Brihat Parasara Hora Shastra form the standard text for Jyotish (Vedic Astrology). Jyotish is not fatalistic and none other than Brahma Himself can tell you exactly what is going to happen. In fact of the twelve houses that govern the various facets of life, the 3rd, 6th, 10th and 11th houses are called Upachaya or houses of growth. The affairs connected with this house are based on the exercise of free will of the individual and cannot be dictated upon. -
Jyotish Vidya ( Sage Parasara ) Chapter 1. the Creation 1-4
1 Jyotish vidya ( sage Parasara ) Chapter 1. The Creation 1-4. Offering his obeisance to all-knowing sage Parasara and with folded hands, Maitreya said, "O Venerable, Astrology, the supreme limb of the Vedas, has three divisions, viz. Hora, Ganita and Samhita. Among the said three divisions, Hora or genethliac part of astrology is still more excellent. I desire to know of its glorious aspects from you. Be pleased to tell me, "How this Universe is created? How does it end? What is the relationship of the animals born on this earth with the heavenly bodies? Please speak elaborately". 5-8. Parasara answered, O Brahmin, your query (so to say, the desire to know of the intricacies of astrology) has an auspicious purpose in it for the welfare of the Universe. Praying Lord Brahma and Sri Saraswati, His power (and consort), and the Sun God, the leader of the planets and the cause of Creation. I shall proceed to narrate to you the Science of Astrologfy as heard through Lord Brahma. Only good will follow the teaching of this science to the students who are peacefully disposed, who honour the preceptors (and elders), who speak only truth and who are God-fearing. Woeful for ever doubtlessly will it be to impart knowledge of this science to an unwilling student, to a heterodox, and to a crafty person. 9-12. Sri Vishnu who is the lord (of all matters), who has undefiled spirit, who is endowed with the three Gunas although he transcends the grip of Gunas (i.e. Gunatita), who is the Author of this Universe, who is glorious, who is the Cause and who is endowed with valor has no beginning. -

Vedic Astrology: an Integrated Approach
Looking Back: An Update In the last ten years since writing this book, my astrology studies and research continued and my knowledge has been considerably refined. I have refined several calculations and concepts shared in this book, based on my studies, insights and experimentation. I may try to edit this book or write a new book in future, reflecting the refinements in knowledge. However, I think that the book may still be useful for clarifying some basic concepts and preparing the ground for advanced studies. So I am sharing this book freely with all. Some of my researches are shared as free articles on http://www.VedicAstrologer.org/articles My writings on Jyotish are archived in the yahoogroup: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/JyotishWritings/messages P.V.R.
