Lippincott,' the Supreme Court of Pennsyl- vania, through Mr. Justice Drew, said: "It is now firmly settled not only by our decisions, but also under our Statutes, that as to claims for maintenance and support of deserted and neglected wive, not divorced, spendthrift trusts are invalid in this Commonwealth." This unequivocal excerpt hints that such was not always the law.
