Dick Hazelwood and The Holystone Rockers gave us the most marvellous entertainment and even had us all up dancing – quite an achievement! All the children loved it and enormous thanks to Simon for the use of the shed, which lent itself perfectly for such a “do” and the sun poured in. Thanks also to Gail, Sharon, Helen, Jackie, Tim, Vicki and Sue for all they did to make it so successful. Our next fund raiser is a party on the 7th July at Glebe House, Holystone. Quite a number of tickets have already been sold and Pimms and Canapés sound a pretty good combination to me! Tickets are £10.00 and available from Marion 650328, Julia 630241, Sharon 650076 or Helen 650009. Obviously it would be fantastic if we get a sunny evening but we have our music makers in action again and you will love them! The concert season is drawing to a close with the last on July 1st at 7.30pm. Guitar, Saxophone and Piano with the guitarist has been described as one of the greatest joys of British jazz with an astonishing range of colour – how lucky are we to have such talent coming to our doorstep. Don’t miss it! Everyone will have heard by now that sadly the Rector is leaving us in September. We wish him all the very best in Worth and he will no doubt find it rather an easier parish to run than Coquetdale. However we do sincerely hope that Rev Ann doesn’t take fright at having to look after us for a wee while and we will all have to step up to the mark to make it easier and assist where necessary. Sharon’s letter for sponsorship to help with our keeping the church yards cut and tidy has been very successful and huge thanks to all who generously responded to the letter we are most grateful. We wish the very best to all those involved with exams at all levels and hope you all have a very happy summer holiday.
