The general nature and effect of the orders are set out below: GUILFORD STREET, WC1N: 24-hour waiting and loading restrictions to apply from a point 25.3 metres west of the western kerb line of Millman Street eastwards to a point 5.2 metres east of the eastern kerb line of Millman Street. GREAT ORMOND STREET, WC1N: 24-hour waiting restrictions to apply on the north side for a distance of approximately 5 metres west of the junction with Millman Street. MILLMAN STREET, WC1N: west side Revocation of the residents permit parking place between the junctions with Guilford Street and Millman Mews. Three disabled persons’ (Blue Badge) parking spaces to be designated between the junctions with Guilford Street and Millman Mews to operate as such on Mondays to Fridays, 8.30am – 6.30pm and on Saturdays between 8.30am and 1.30pm, maximum stay 3 hours. 24-hour waiting and loading restrictions to apply between the junctions with Guilford Street and Millman Mews (except where disabled persons’ parking places are designated). 24-hour waiting restrictions (without loading restrictions) to apply on the west side between the junctions with Millman Place and Great Ormond Street except where parking places are designated. east side Conversion of the paid-for parking place outside nos. 42 and 44 Millman Street to shared-use parking with “CA-D” permit holders. Disabled persons’ (Blue Badge) parking place immediately south of the junction with Guilford Street to be converted to residents permit parking place 24-hour waiting and loading restrictions to apply from the junction with Guilford Street southwards for a distance of 10.2 metres LAMB’S CONDUIT STREET, WC1N: 24-hour waiting restrictions to apply on the east side from a point 2.7 metres north of the junction with Long Yard southwards to a point 34.2 metres south of the same junction LONG YARD, WC1N: 24-hour waiting restrictions to apply on both sides for a distance of 10 metres from the junction with Lamb’s Conduit Street QUEEN SQUARE, WC1 Designation of 24-hour waiting restrictions outside the vehicular entrance to 5 Queen Square. CREDITON HILL, NW6: Revocation of a 7.4 metre long residents’ parking place outside no. 20 Crediton Hill and re-designation as a dedicated disabled person’s parking place. OVAL ROAD, NW1: Designation of a dedicated disabled person’s parking place in the southernmost 6.6 metre section of the paid-for parking place outside The LockHouse, 33-35 Oval Road with the paid-for parking place extended at the northern end by 6.6 metres. PLATT’S LANE, NW3: Revocation of a 7.2 metre long residents’ parking place outside no. 10 Platt’s Lane and re-designation as a disabled persons’ (Blue Badge) parking place.     JACOB EPSTEIN: BABIES AND BLOOMSBURY Catalogue essay by Gill Hedley for exhibition at The Foundling Museum, Jan 2015 IN BLOOMSBURY Antony Gormley said in 2009 that Epstein was solely responsible for the arrival of Modernism, and in particular for bringing direct carving to Britain. Since Jacob Epsteins first public commission in London in 1908, he had been criticised, often viciously, for his monumental avant-garde sculpture. Throughout his career, he also consistently produced lyrical, intimate portraits of his wife, his lovers and their children. Epstein lived for many years in Bloomsbury but was never part of the literary, painterly Bloomsbury Group often characterised as people who lived in squares, moved in circles and loved in triangles. This might also serve as a desiptio of Epsteis o complex family life. He knew Bloomsbury for over twenty years. It was where he first stayed in London, had a series of studios and stores, a family home and where his first children were born. It was also the location of the British Museum whose collections of ancient and non-European sculpture were his early inspiration. Jacob Epstein was born in 1880, the second son of a businessman Max Epstein and his wife Mary Solomon who were middle-class, Orthodox Russian-Polish Jewish refugees in New York. He was the third of eight surviving children and his interest in drawing came from long periods of enforced rest due to pleurisy. Aged 22, Epstein moved to Paris to study art formally in academies and then independently, regularly visiting museums. In 1904, he made a brief exploratory trip to London and stayed in Bloomsbury visiting more museums, above all the British Museum.

    Presentation to Inquiry Mark Nash Guilford Court Freehold 1. I am here today as representing , Guilford Court Freehold (GCF) 51 Guilford Street and in an individual capacity as a Camden resident living in Guilford Street. 2. The issues that concern residents of Guilford Street are the increase in traffic congestion in Guilford Street itself, with the accompanying additional pollution, and the dramatic increase in travel times north particularly along Russel Square and Woburn Place as a result of the closure of Gordon Square to westbound traffic. 3 As an individual resident – I walk, use public transport, drive and indeed take taxis. I also cycle. As a cyclist who has been knocked off my bike in the past I am aware of how dangerous cycling can be. I think we all support measures to make cycling safer, however this scheme already had a cycle lane which I used several times a week cycling to South Kensington where I worked at the Royal College of Art. I had no particular problems with the scheme. I am not convinced that the benefit of the additional road space allocated to cycles in the trial scheme outweighs the increased travel times and attendant pollution caused by the one way system. 4 Guilford Street has largely been left out of the council survey, yet it is considerably impacted by the change in the traffic. We don't think the Council has taken sufficient notice of these effects beyond the immediate trial area, pollution and traffic flows have not been measured with the same consistency. There was always some congestion for traffic making the left turn into Southampton Row from Guilford Street.
