INTERPOL Integrity in Sport Bi-Weekly Bulletin 5-18 March 2019 SENTENCES/SANCTIONS Chile Mauricio Alvarez-Guzman banned for life for tennis match-fixing and associated corruption offences Chilean tennis player Mauricio Alvarez-Guzman has been handed a lifetime ban from professional tennis after being found guilty of match-fixing and associated corruption offences, which breach the sport’s Tennis Anti-Corruption Program (TACP). The 31-year old was found to have attempted to contrive the outcome of an August 2016 ATP Challenger match in Meerbusch, Germany by offering a player €1,000 to lose a set. In addition he was found guilty of contriving the singles draw of the ITF F27 Futures tournament played in July 2016 in Antalya, Turkey by purchasing a wild card for entry into the singles competition. An intention to purchase a wild card for the doubles competition of the same tournament did not come to fruition, but still stands as a corruption offence. The disciplinary case against Mr Alvarez-Guzman was considered by independent Anti-Corruption Hearing Officer Charles Hollander QC at a Hearing held in London on 11 March 2019. Having found him guilty of all charges, the lifetime ban imposed by Mr Hollander means that with effect from 14 March 2019 the player is permanently excluded from competing in or attending any tournament or event organised or sanctioned by the governing bodies of the sport.

The first three reports were published by the Women’s Sports Foundation. The fourth report was published by SHARP, the Sport, Health and Activity Research and Policy Center for Women and Girls. SHARP is a research center at the University of Michigan’s Institute for Research on Women and Gender, co-founded by the Women’s Sports Foundation. The fifth report, published in 2017 by the Women’s Sports Foundation, provided the most accurate, comprehensive, and up-to-date examination of the participation trends among female Olympic and Paralympic athletes and the hiring trends of Olympic and Paralympic governing bodies with respect to the number of women who hold leadership positions in these organizations. The sixth report examines the same issues for the 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. It is intended to provide governing bodies, athletes, and policymakers at the national and international level with new and accurate information with an eye toward making the Olympic and Paralympic movement equitable for all. Most hockey rules apply, except that the game is played with a regulation broomball stick (which is shaped like a broom) and a regulation broomball (which is a heavy plastic ball, slightly bigger than a softball). Campus Recreation provides sticks and balls. The game is played on an ice hockey rink. Players are not allowed to wear skates. Campus Recreation reserves the right to revise, or update, at any time, any rules related to intramural broomball. A. Players' Equipment 1. Footwear: Rubber soled non-marking tennis or basketball type shoes suitable for running on ice are recommended. No spikes, cleats, heavy boots, or similar footwear is allowed. Broomball shoes are not allowed. 2. Gloves, shin pads, elbow pads, and mouthpiece are optional, but recommended. Shin pads or elbow pads must be worn under clothing. Hockey goalie equipment, with the exception of a goalie helmet, are not allowed. Hand protection is limited to the use of mittens or gloves. Helmets are mandatory and will be provided by Campus Recreation. You may use your own helmet if you have one. 3. Balls and sticks will be provided by Campus Recreation and must be used. You may not use your own broomball stick. 4. Broomball adheres to the Intramural Handbook’s jersey policy. Please plan accordingly. 5. All jewelry must be removed. B. Officials 1. The officials shall not permit any player to wear equipment that, in their judgment is dangerous to other players.

The 2017 Report summarizes the results of all the samples WADA-accredited laboratories analyzed and reported into WADA’s Anti-Doping Administration and Management System (ADAMS) in 2017. This is the third set of global testing results since the revised World Anti-Doping Code (Code) came into effect in January 2015. The 2017 Report – which includes this Executive Summary and sub-reports by Laboratory , Sport, Testing Authority (TA) and Athlete Biological Passport (ABP) Blood Analysis – includes in- and out-of-competition urine samples; blood and ABP blood data; and, the resulting Adverse Analytical Findings (AAFs) and Atypical Findings (ATFs). REPORT HIGHLIGHTS • A analyzed: 300,565 in 2016 to 322,050 in 2017. 7.1 % increase in the overall number of samples • A de crease in the number of AAFs: 1.60% in 2016 (4,822 AAFs from 300,565 samples) to 1.43% in 2017 (4,596 AAFs from 322,050 samples).

    Book D – D3.1 ANTI-DOPING RULES (In force from 1 April 2020) Book D – D3.1 Book D – D3.1 Specific Definitions The words and phrases used in these Rules that are defined terms (denoted by initial capital letters) shall have the meanings specified in the Constitution and the Generally Applicable Definitions, or (in respect of the following words and phrases) the following meanings: "Athletics Integrity Unit" means the unit described in Part X of the Constitution and “Integrity Unit” has the same meaning. "ADAMS" The Anti-Doping Administration and Management System is a web-based database management tool for data entry, storage, sharing and reporting designed to assist Stakeholders and WADA in their anti-doping operations in conjunction with data protection legislation. "Administration" Providing, supplying, supervising, facilitating or otherwise participating in the Use or Attempted Use by another Person of a Prohibited Substance or Prohibited Method. However, this definition shall not include the actions of bona fide medical personnel involving a Prohibited Substance or Prohibited Method used for genuine and legal therapeutic purposes or other acceptable justification and shall not include actions involving Prohibited Substances which are not prohibited in Out-of-Competition Testing unless the circumstances as a whole demonstrate that such Prohibited Substances are not intended for genuine and legal therapeutic purposes or are intended to enhance sport performance. "Adverse Analytical Finding" A report from a WADA-accredited laboratory or other WADA- approved laboratory that, consistent with the International Standard for Laboratories and related Technical Documents, identifies in a Sample the presence of a Prohibited Substance or its Metabolites or Markers (including elevated quantities of endogenous substances) or evidence of the Use of a Prohibited Method.

Games will be governed by the current rules of the National Intramural and Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA), with the following modifications and points of emphasis: GENERAL Participants should have adequate health insurance to cover any injury which may occur. Alcoholic beverages and drugs are prohibited in the Student Recreation Center, on any recreation center property and at all Intramural Sports sanctioned events. Participation while under the influence of these substances is also prohibited in these areas. Any violation of this policy will be grounds for immediate ejection, forfeiture and possible suspension. NO JEWELRY is allowed in any intramural competition. Game time is forfeit time! Players should check in with the Intramural Supervisor at least 15 minutes before their scheduled game time. If you do not have enough players to field a team at game time, your team will receive a Forfeit. NO EXCEPTIONS! No Buff OneCard = No Play! All intramural participants are required to have either their Buff OneCard or Rec Center membership card with them at EVERY intramural event. Failure to do so will result in ineligibility. NO EXCEPTIONS! The following are situations in which your team WILL NOT be allowed to advance to the post- season tournament: o If you forfeit one regular season game.
