Legendary rock'n'roller Ronnie Hawkins, contemporary and friend of Little Richard and Jerry Lee Lewis, is now 71 and has been living in semi­ retirement in Canada. Among the great musicians who've worked with Ronnie over the years are The Band and . In 1969, John Lennon and Yoko Ono stayed with Ronnie on his farm in Mississauga for a couple of weeks during their peace crusade. Afterwards, Ronnie and music journalist Ritchie Yorke were recruited by Lennon as peace emissaries and visited China. Gerry Anderson had the distinction of being Ronnie's bass­player in the 1970s. He travels to Ronnie's home to meet and reminisce with him, and then joins him for a local rock'n'roll gig.

Ronnie's Last Show

Legendary rock'n'roller Ronnie Hawkins, contemporary and friend of Little Richard and Jerry Lee Lewis, is now 71 and has been living in semi­ retirement in Canada. Among the great musicians who've worked with Ronnie over the years are The Band and Bob Dylan. In 1969, John Lennon and Yoko Ono stayed with Ronnie on his farm in Mississauga for a couple of weeks during their peace crusade. Afterwards, Ronnie and music journalist Ritchie Yorke were recruited by Lennon as peace emissaries and visited China. Gerry Anderson had the distinction of being Ronnie's bass­player in the 1970s. He travels to Ronnie's home to meet and reminisce with him, and then joins him for a local rock'n'roll gig.
