AGENDA ITEM No. .0j~30e~D.0DDOCOIODD.1" NORTH LANARKSHIRE COUNCIL REPORT To: MOTHERWELL AND DISTRICT LOCAL Subject: JOINT COMMUNITY SAFETY AREA PARTNERSHIP REPORT From: HOUSING & SOCIAL WORK SERVICES STRATHCLYDE POLICE STRATHCLYDE FIRE & RESCUE Date: 19' January 201 1 Ref: JS 1 Introduction 1.1 The purpose of this report is to update members of the Motherwell and District Local Area Partnership on developments with the current joint work taking place between Strathclyde Police, Housing and Social Work Services and Strathclyde Fire and Rescue for the period from September 201 0 to November 201 0. 2 Background 2.1 Under the Government's 'Promoting Positive Outcomes: Working Together to Prevent Anti-social Behaviour in Scotland, the National Framework for preventing anti- social behaviour, has allowed the wider public sector to move in the same direction; work together as equal partners and importantly, allow collective contribution from all the public sector partners. 2.2 Tackling antisocial behaviour contributes to all five of the Government's strategic objectives but primarily supports making our communities safer and stronger by focusing on National Outcome 9 ( we live our lives free from crime, disorder and danger) and 11 (we have strong, resilient and supportive communities where people take responsibility for their own actions and how they affect others). 3. Statistical Information 3.1 The report includes information from each of the partners and a ward by ward summary of notable incidents. Appendix 1 shows the Hotspot map for the Motherwell area, Appendix 2 Housing & Social Work Services, Appendix 3 Strathclyde Police and Appendix 4 the Tactical Assessment from Strathclyde Fire & Rescue. -

LOW CARBON FUND VACANT & DERELICT LAND INVESTMENT PROGRAMME GUIDANCE FOR APPLICANTS AT STAGE 1 (FOR 2022-23 FUNDING) 1. INTRODUCTION 1.1 This document is intended to help applicants prepare and submit their stage 1 applications to the £50 million low carbon Vacant & Derelict Land Investment Programme (VDLIP) which is being delivered from 2021-22 over an initial five years. Applications are being sought for 2022-23, the second round of funding. 1.2 The document provides further information on: the background and strategic context of the VDLIP the application process eligible organisations eligible project types / sites example projects and case studies 1.3 The programme was first launched in 2021/22 and this guidance may be subject to further development and refinement in future years. 2. ABOUT THE VDLIP 2.1 Scotland has almost 11,000 hectares of vacant and derelict urban land sites which can blight communities, harm wellbeing, and limit opportunities. However those sites could offer so much more - they could help solve some of society’s biggest challenges, including around climate change and inequality. 2.2 By prioritising the reuse of persistent vacant and derelict land, and protecting our existing natural capital, we can ensure that future investment goes into areas where it is needed the most, supporting shared ambitions for place, community regeneration, town centres, and 20 minute neighbourhoods. 2.3 The £50 million VDLIP is a capital programme scheduled over the next five years to help with tackling persistent vacant and derelict land and supporting place based approaches to delivering regeneration and sustainable inclusive growth, as part of a ‘just transition’ to net-zero by 2045. -

The North Lanarkshire Common Housing Register is a partnership between North Lanarkshire Council and partner Registered Social Landlords (Housing Associations and Co-operatives) who have social rented housing stock in the North Lanarkshire area. The CHR lets you apply for social rented housing owned by any of the partner landlords by using just one application form. Information from your application form will go on a register, which each of the partner landlords can access. If they consider you for housing, they will award you a priority according to their own allocation policy. -
