Cats were randomly allocated 32 to receive medetomidine (600 µg/m2) and buprenorphine (180 µg/m2) (group 33 MB) or medetomidine (500 µg/m2) and methadone (5 mg/m2) (group MM) IM. 34 Anaesthesia was induced 15 minutes later using alfaxalone (3 mg/kg) IM. 35 Anaesthesia was maintained with isoflurane in oxygen. All cats received 36 meloxicam pre-operatively.
