CAMSAT KIT (VT1, 2)

INTRODUCTION

The CAMSAT range of video receivers are designed for wireless PAL or NTSC video signal transmission over the -link on the ISM 5.8 GHz band. They support 8 channel settings within the range 5725 to 5875 MHz, each setting using an individual channel to avoid interference when using multiple video/sender receivers. The device supports 1 video channel and 2 audio channels (2 x mono, 1 x stereo). . The VT1 is the 1Km kit . The VT2 is the 2 Km kit Please note that you will require a 5.8Ghz Broadcast license in the United Kingdom. This can be obtained through OfCom, Independent regulator and competition authority for the UK communications industries.

SETTING UP

It is recommended that you configure the devices and test the operation before positioning and mounting.

CHANNEL SETTINGS

The Transmitter/Receiver kit will only support 1 channel at a time, however you can use separate channels to allow the use of multiple devices. . The VT1 has the choice of 7 channels . The VT2 and 3 have a choice of 8 channels Set the Jumpers on the Channel setting to the desired frequency

Connection Descritpion Vid + This is the centre core of the RG59 cable Gnd Vid/Aud The video and audio use a common ground on the VT1 kit. The RG59 connector on the VT1 is for testing purposes. Connect the outer braid of the RG59 cable to this connection. Video In/Out The VT2 has a separate RG59 connection for the video. Connect via an RG59 twist on connector. Aud/Audio The Kit has support for stereo audio. If you have mono, you can use either the Left or Right Audio, as long as you use the same selection each end. Gnd DC This is the negative DC connection +12V DC This is for the positive DC connection

The VT1 allows for connecting the Video signal to an RG59 plug, however this can obstruct the cover without an elbow joint. You can connect the video using the Vid + and Gnd Vid/Aud on the connector block.

This RG59 can be used to connect a test monitor on the receiver module. If you connect a test monitor to the RG59 on the transmitter module however (only on the VT1), the video will appear distorted as it is designed as an input.

VIDEO SENDER/RECEIVER DESCRIPTION

The receiver unit is the unit with the large square antennae. The antennae side of the transmitter is the metal plate, not the plastic cover side.

ASSEMBLY The mounting brackets are designed for pole mounting. . Screw the mounting brackets to the base of each device. . Using the clamp, attach the device to a sturdy pole with the antennae pointed towards each other  The angle of deviation of the transmitter can only be up to 13°  The receiver can have an angle of deviation up to 30° from the transmitter.  The square antennae and the metal plate need to point towards each other.  Note the polarity labels on the devices, both polarities must be the same way . Mount the Transmitter and receiver in clear line of site. . Connect the signal and power cables according to the connection details . Apply power and they will begin to transmit and receive the signal This completes the Setup of your Transmitter and receiver device.
