UTM HEIFERS (42) Max. 235p/kg & £142 A superb yarding of over 40 heifers here at Frome meeting an off the clock trade. Top of the day, the Payne family’s corking Charolais heifers, rocketing to 228.50p/kg, 222p/kg and 215p/kg or an outstanding £1631, £1498 and £1441. The Hicks family again ticked all the boxes seeing their Charolais to 228.50p/kg or £1357, Limousins to 235p/kg, 233p/kg, 229.50p/kg and 228.50p/kg or £1386, £1348, £1278 and £1275. Mr Ponzo again up fighting for medals with Limousins to 229.50p/kg and 227.50p/kg or £1406 and £1365. A lovely thick Simmental heifer from RE Dury & Son reached 220.50p/kg or £1424. The Yandle’s Blue well sold to 209.50p/kg or £1380. A smart Angus heifer from Jim Short flew to 212.50p/kg or £1294. This chased hard by Waddon Farm who saw heifers to 209.50p/kg or £1194. Good numbers from the Collins family topped at 206p/kg and 199.50p/kg or £1129. Mr Doggrell’s Hereford heifer well fought over to 216.50p/kg and 212.50p/kg or £1249.
