Previously, the Columbia (Mets) 13 13 5.5 RiverDogs had only scored 11 total runs in four games for the lefty starter. performance Tuesday, the Asheville pitching staff had a league-worst 5.75 ERA. Asheville was able to lower its team ERA to 5.70, and Charleston raised its runs per game total to 3.19 in the victory. • One, Two Punch: The RiverDogs primary top-two hitters in the lineup had a strong final week of April. Wilkerman Garcia# Second and Oswaldo-Half Division Cabrera Winner batted a combined .325 (25-for-77) while reaching base at an over .400 clip over the last ten games of April wit h the Dogs offense following suit. The Venezuelan duo each had a base hit and an RBI, and Garcia scored a run of his own in the win on Wednesday. • Home Sweet Home: Pablo Olivares went 3-for-4 in Wednesday’s victory. The outfielder has nine hits in his first six home games with the RiverDogs this season, hitting safely in five with three multi-hit games. Olivares also hit safely in RiverDogs Quick Stats three of four games in Greensboro and has a .344 batting average entering Thursday’s series finale. 1st Half Record: 12-14 • Situational Hitting: Charleston has struggled with runners in scoring position this season but delivered with three hits 2nd Half Record: 0-0 in such situations on Wednesday.
