Saskatoon Blazers 2020/2021 Sponsorship Package SASKATOON BLAZERS 2020/2021 SPONSORSHIP PACKAGE 1921 Pembina Ave Saskatoon, SK. S7K 1C4 Phone: (306) 222-7230 Website: www.saskatoonblazers.ca The Saskatoon Blazers are a midget AAA hockey team in the The SMAAAHL. The league consists of 12 teams from across Blazers Saskatchewan and is widely considered to be one of, if not the best midget AAA leagues in the country. The teams coaches, trainers, management and hockey operations staff work extremely hard to motivate and develop these young players to become succesful on and off the ice. For an organization to keep the tradition that the Blazers have within our city and province, we have created a sponsorship program with a variety of different opportunities for companies or individuals to market their brand. The B's play 22 home game at the Rod Hamm Memorial Arena, which provides ample amounts of available advertising. We offer our sponsors online advertising as we have a very strong online presence. Digital Marketing is growing rapidly and the Blazers are no exception with over 1500 followers on Instgram, 1600 on Twitter and about 200,000 hits on our website www.saskatoonblazers.ca The most important aspect of this sponsorship program is to help these young men continue to play and live their dream of being a hockey player. Hockey is one of the most expensive sports to play with our team fees costing each player just over $7,000.00. As members of the Saskatoon business and hockey community, the Blazers ask you for your support this upcoming season to keep a great Sask tradition going. • Vision Training for Goaltenders It's Hard to Imagine Any NHL Goalie
Vision training for Goaltenders It's hard to imagine any NHL goalie getting ready to play or practice without a series of dynamic stretches and movements designed to warm up the key muscles required to stop pucks. For many goalies, though, the most important muscles are in their head. "Your biggest muscle as a goalie is your eyes," Washington Capitals goalie Braden Holtby said. "I do a lot of visual training in my pregame routine to warm up my eyes and keep them sharp. If you're not seeing it, nothing else matters. Your eyes are the basis of your whole game." Whether it's bouncing balls off a wall or standing at the bench hours before the game with his eyes darting around an empty arena, warming up the eyes is a big part of Holtby's well-documented pregame routine. He's hardly the only one. Spend enough time in the bowels of NHL arenas before a game and you will see goalies juggling as often as stretching. "I use it as a warmup for my eyes just to get my focus and concentration going, watching the ball spin, watching it into my hand," said Richard Bachman, who has seen time with the Vancouver Canucks this season in addition to playing in the American Hockey League. "I try to incorporate the vision and tracking that I use on the ice with a tennis ball." Increasingly, that focus on being able to better focus the eyes is extending beyond warmups as more NHL goalies, coaches and even teams add vision training to their offseason.

Buffalo Sabres Daily Press Clips December 31, 2015 Capitals score 4 in third, rally for 5-2 win over Sabres By Jeff Seidel AP December 31, 2015 WASHINGTON (AP) — The Washington Capitals entered the third period Wednesday night with key players injured, missing good scoring chances and trailing by a goal. Then Alex Ovechkin scored twice during a four-goal rally and the Capitals beat the Buffalo Sabres 5-2 to extend their winning streak to nine games and overtake the Dallas Stars for the NHL points lead. "Tonight, you saw some backbone when it was needed," Washington coach Barry Trotz said. "It (was) an opportunity for guys to step up and they did. There wasn't any excuses." The four-goal third period came after the team lost forward Jay Beagle to an upper-body injury and center Nicklas Backstrom to an unspecific injury in the second period. Beagle will undergo surgery and miss significant time. Backstrom's injury was not disclosed and he could play Thursday at the Carolina Hurricanes. Washington already was playing without top defenseman John Carlson, out with a lower-body injury. Despite that, the Capitals turned around Buffalo's 2-1 lead quickly. "We are pretty relentless as a team," Washington goalie Braden Holtby said. "(Obviously, the injuries) makes it tougher. Those guys play a huge role on our team but we are just going to have to find different ways to win if they are out. " Trotz shifted Marcus Johansson from left wing to center and moved Evgeny Kuznetsov to center on the top line.

Sports FRIDAY, JANUARY 16, 2015 Kvitova to play Pliskova in all Czech final in Sydney SYDNEY: Two-time Wimbledon champion Petra Kvitova will play in the final of the Sydney International after ending Tsvetana Pironkova’s incredible run at the tournament yester- day. The Czech second seed proved too strong for the plucky Bulgarian defending champion, winning their semi-final 7-5, 6-1. Kvitova ended Pironkova’s quest for a 15th straight win at the Sydney tournament after the Bulgarian came through the qualifying rounds to win the tournament in 2014 and again had to qualify for the main draw this year. After a stiff contest in the opening set the world No.4 fin- ished off Pironkova with the loss of just one game in the sec- ond set. Kvitova set up an all-Czech final with Karolina Pliskova, who was a straight sets winner in the other semi- final over German fifth seed Angelique Kerber. After a slow start that included losing her opening service game, Kvitova went to a new level and looks in good shape for next week’s Australian Open in Melbourne. Meanwhile, a sapping schedule finally caught up with Kerber. World No.22 Pliskova enjoyed a comfortable 6-3, 6-2 win over last year’s finalist. It had been a tough few days for the German fifth seed and world No.9 who had to endure three three-set matches, including a WTA record late local time finish at 3.10am on Wednesday after rain delays disrupted the tournament sched- WASHINGTON: Goalie Braden Holtby #70 of the Washington Capitals makes a save on a shot by Brayden Schenn #10 of ule.

  • Dobber's 2010-11 Fantasy Guide
DOBBER’S 2010-11 FANTASY GUIDE DOBBERHOCKEY.COM – HOME OF THE TOP 300 FANTASY PLAYERS I think we’re at the point in the fantasy hockey universe where DobberHockey.com is either known in a fantasy league, or the GM’s are sleeping. Besides my column in The Hockey News’ Ultimate Pool Guide, and my contributions to this year’s Score Forecaster (fifth year doing each), I put an ad in McKeen’s. That covers the big three hockey pool magazines and you should have at least one of them as part of your draft prep. The other thing you need, of course, is this Guide right here. It is not only updated throughout the summer, but I also make sure that the features/tidbits found in here are unique. I know what’s in the print mags and I have always tried to set this Guide apart from them. Once again, this is an automatic download – just pick it up in your downloads section. Look for one or two updates in August, then one or two updates between September 1st and 14th. After that, when training camp is in full swing, I will be updating every two or three days right into October. Make sure you download the latest prior to heading into your draft (and don’t ask me on one day if I’ll be updating the next day – I get so many of those that I am unable to answer them all, just download as late as you can). Any updates beyond this original release will be in bold blue.

  • Buffalo Sabres Digital Press
Buffalo Sabres Daily Press Clips December 15, 2017 Filppula’s goal leads Flyers to 5th straight win By AARON BRACY Associated Press Dec. 15, 2017 PHILADELPHIA (AP) — No longer struggling, the suddenly confident Philadelphia Flyers are now able to overcome their own blunders. Valtteri Filppula scored the game-winner with 2 1/2 minutes left in the second period and Travis Sanheim netted his first career goal to help the Flyers win their fifth straight game, 2-1 over the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday night. Brian Elliott rebounded from a costly mistake early in the game to make 19 saves for the Flyers, whose winning streak has come on the heels of a 10-game losing streak. The winning stretch began with a three-game Canadian trip that started with coach Dave Hakstol changing the team’s formation to a more defensive-minded 1-2-2 alignment. Philadelphia (13-11-7) has outscored opponents 19-8 since. Buffalo opened the scoring 1 1/2 minutes into the game thanks to a miscue by Elliott. The Flyers goalie attempted to clear the puck from behind the net, but he passed right to Buffalo’s Zemgus Girgensons. The Buffalo center then passed in front to Ryan O’Reilly, who shot into an empty net for his eighth goal of the season. “A little miscommunication and a bad play on my part,” Elliott said. But the Flyers didn’t get rattled — something that maybe wouldn’t have happened two weeks ago. “You can take a punch better when you have a swagger to your game,” Hakstol said.
