ALL INDIA CONGRESS COMMITTEE Highlights of the Press Briefing 13 ALL INDIA CONGRESS COMMITTEE 24, AKBAR ROAD, NEW DELHI COMMUNICATION DEPARTMENT Highlights of the Press Briefing 13 March, 2019 Shri Randeep Singh Surjewala, In-charge Communications Department, AICC addressed the media today at AICC Hdqrs. Modinomics has become synonym with Pakodanomics in this country. So, no jobs, no vote for BJP. That is the Mantra for 2019 elections. Friends, Modi Government is the single biggest destroyer of jobs, of hope and future of India’s youth. PM Modi came to power promising 2 crore jobs a year. Five years down the line, joblessness and unemployment are at a 45 year high and I want to give you 9-10 important indices. Economic Growth is at a 5 year low. Farm Income Growth is at a 14 year low. Fresh investments are at a 14 year low. Private Investments are at a 7 year low. Industrial Growth is at a low of 1.7% (down from 7.5%, a year ago). Household Savings are at a 20 year low. FDI Growth is at a 5 year low. Core Sector Growth is at a 2 year low. Growth of Exports (compared to UPA) has fallen by 15 times. (393% during UPA to 26% under Modi Govt). This is a government that sets up new loss in every sphere and consequently is leading to wide spread job losses. Jobs are the single biggest crisis facing India’s Youth.As per CMIE's survey, unemployment rate has touched 7.2%. As per National Sample Survey Office (NSSO) Report, unemployment rate is at 6.1%. Unemployment rate for the youth is at an alarming high level of 13-27%. This is the highest in the last 45 years. Prime Minister Modi is the single biggest destroyer of jobs. In post demonetisation year, Joblessness amongst Rural males (aged between 15 years to 29 years) has risen from 5% in 2011-12 to 17% in 2017-18. Amongst Rural females (aged between 15 years to 29 years), Joblessness has risen from 4.8% in 2011-12 to 13.6% in 2017-18.[NSSO Report, 2017-18] Similarly, in post demonetisation year, Joblessness amongst Urban males (aged between 15 years to 29 years) surged from 8.1% in 2011-12 to 18.7% in 2017-18 and for Urban females (aged between 15 years to 29 years), it rose from 13.1% to 27.2% in 2017- 18. Even Modi Govt's Niti Aayog has admitted in Feb 2018 that India is plagued by ‘unsatisfactory jobs & under employment’. As per the ILO, 77% of Indian workers will have vulnerable employment by 2019.The All India Manufacturers’ Organization also said in December 2018 that the sector alone lost 35 lakh jobs since 2016, citing demonetization and GST as the two main reasons. All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) in July last year said that “a fifth of India’s 6.3 Crore small businesses—contributing 32% to the economy and employing 11.1 Crore people—“faced a 20% fall in profits since the GST rollout, and had to sack hundreds of thousands of workers” पांचवा, जॉब क्राईभसस की क्या हालत है, इसके हम केवल आपको 4 उदाहरर् देना चाहते हℂ। Modi Govt exudes the virtues of a MUDRA loan but fails to tell the people of India that average size of MUDRA loans for 91% beneficiaries is a mere ₹23,000. 23,000 셁पए मᴂ पकौड े की दकु ान भी नहीं लग सकती है और ना ही पान की। An RTI reply refused to answer the basic question of ‘how many jobs were created under the MUDRA scheme’. Colourful phrases like ‘Skill India’, ‘Start-up India’ & ‘Stand-up India’ have all vanished from PM Modi’s speeches. According to official figures, the placement rate of ‘Skill India’ is a meagre 14.7% that means 93% of people in Skill India have no jobs. Friends, Congress Party is committed to create jobs. The annual demand for new jobs in India is 120 lakhs. Congress party is committed, Shri Rahul Gandhi Ji is committed to put the Agriculture sector, Informal sector and MSMEs, at the centre of our job creation agenda post 2019 elections. When we will form the Government, besides the rapid expansion of the organized sector by 3 things, Infusion of capital, infusion of new investments and appropriate concessions, time has come to move away from pan pakodanomics of PM Modi to a decisive job centric growth agenda of the Congress Party.

The crossing of swords of words between the two cousins; Priyanka and Varun takes a sharp edge By : INVC Team Published On : 15 Apr, 2014 06:37 PM IST INVC, Delhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Tuesday bombarded yet another word cannon at her cousin Varun Gandhi, saying the Lok Sabha elections is "an ideological war and not a family tea party". Evidently, The crossing of swords between the two cousins occurred early in the morning from across nearby towns in the midst of electioneering as Varun filed his nomination from Sultanpur constituency. Varun also hit back at her accusing her of "crossing limits of decency" and said that one cannot raise one's stature by belittling somebody. "This is not a family tea party. It is an ideological war. I believe anybody, no matter how close they are, own blood relations ... if they are going to be on that side of the ideological divide. "He had expressed his views in the last elections and I do not agree with them at all. I strongly disagree with them. It is a betrayal of my family. My father died for the unity of this country. I cannot disregard it for anybody even if it is my own child," Priyanka told reporters in Amethi, where she was campaigning for her brother Rahul. She was apparently referring to the controversy Varun had created in the last elections when he addressed an election rally in Pilibhit constituency which was widely denounced as a hate speech. A couple of days earlier she had remarked that Varun had gone "astray" and should be shown the right path.

Scholar, Symbiosis International University, Pune (Corresponding Author) Email: [email protected] Dr N. Thilaka Director, Symbiosis School of Media & Communication, Bengaluru ABSTRACT Digital media has evolved into the most comprehensive space of political communication. Many politicians utilise social media platforms to extend their political discourse, and the public has exhibited divergent responses. However, female political leaders are often subjected to a unique pattern of reception distinct from that of their male counterparts. This research employs qualitative content analysis and Feminist Critical Discourse Analysis (FCDA) to draw gender-specific inferences from the Twitter discourse of three prominent female leaders in India: Priyanka Gandhi, Mayawati Smriti Irani. It explores the relationship between their digital discourse and the scope of performative gender in modern-day political communication. Through findings incorporating relevant points of intersection between attitudes of misogyny and the popular conception of leadership, it foregrounds the key concept of gender trolling in digital communication. In doing so, the research signifies a predominantly discriminative digital media that delineates the growth of egalitarian politics. In the last four years of his tenure as Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, he has plugged most holes left opened by his predecessors. Even as Yogi prepares to present final budg- et of his current regime on February 22, all eyes are once again hooked on to Yogi- the benefactor, who has not let down any section of the society during his previous budgetary allocations. Uttar Pradesh, under the leadership of Yogi Adityanath, has brought global laurels for ef- fective control of Covid-19 and the on-going construction of three Expressways- Purvan- chal, Bundelkhand and Ganga, is another feather in his four glorious years.
