BMW Corporate Communications Media Information DTM 2nd July 2017 Second race, second BMW victory: Maxime Martin wins eventful Sunday race at the Norisring. • BMW’s 75th victory in the DTM since 1984. • Maxime Martin stands on the top step of the DTM podium for the third time. • Five BMW M4 DTMs finish in the top ten. Norisring. Following Bruno Spengler’s (CAN) victory in Saturday’s race at the Norisring (GER), it was another BMW driver who crossed the finish line in first place at the end of the eighth race of the year on Sunday: after 66 laps, two safety car phases and one red flag, Maxime Martin (BEL) took the chequered flag to claim the 75th success for BMW in the DTM having started from seventh on the grid. Martin backed up third place in Budapest (HUN) and second place on Saturday with his third DTM victory – his first since 2015 at the Nürburgring. For BMW, this was a fitting conclusion to a historic weekend at the Norisring. BMW was victorious in Nuremberg for the first time since 1992 – and, as was also the case back then, in both races. Marco Wittmann (GER), Augusto Farfus (BRA), Tom Blomqvist (GBR) and Timo Glock (GER) finished fifth, seventh, ninth and tenth to complete a fine team result, with five BMW M4 DTMs in the top ten on Sunday. Spengler came home twelfth, having been in contention for a podium finish for long periods of the race. Qualifying: As usual, the grid positions at the narrow street circuit were decided by mere thousandths of a second. -

2017 BMW X4 Review
9/6/2019 2017 BMW X4 Review 2017 BMW X4 newcartestdrive.com/reviews/2017-bmw-x4 Home / Reviews / 2017 BMW X4 By New Car Test Drive September 24, 2016 The BMW X4 Sports Activity Coupe is structurally similar to the compact X3, but it’s topped by a seductively curved roof that almost sends it into another category. The X4 has four doors, so it’s not really a coupe. Taking the X3 that serves as its foundation, BMW developed a roofline that tapers toward the rear. More intriguing in appearance than its taller cousin, the X4 loses some interior space and functionality. The X4 was launched as a 2015 model. For the 2017 model year, two versions of are available, the X4 xDrive 28i and the new X4 M40i. 2017 X4 xDrive 28i models now come standard with Wireless charging and a wi-fi hotspot with enhanced USB and Bluetooth. Navigation has been upgraded to iDrive 5.0 on 2017 BMW X4 models. A turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder develops 240 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. Surprisingly spirited, the X4 28i can reach 60 mph in six seconds. The new BMW X4 M40i model supplants the former xDrive35i. Ranking as an authentically potent performance vehicle, the M40i holds a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine that generates 355 horsepower and 343 pound-feet. That one accelerates to 60 mph in a mere 4.7 seconds. https://www.newcartestdrive.com/reviews/2017-bmw-x4/ 1/4 9/6/2019 2017 BMW X4 Review Both engines mate with a smooth-shifting 8-speed automatic transmission and xDrive all-wheel drive. -

The last time the DTM saw such a close finish was 24 years ago. “The race was pretty entertaining,” said René Rast, who had to fight hard for his first victory of the season – especially against pole sitter Robin Frijns. The two brand mates clashed in the first corner after the start. “I had to drive through the grass in Turn 1, and also afterwards the fight with Robin was pretty hard. We pitted early to react to an undercut of Robin and Marco (Wittmann). I knew that Nico would come in the end on fresher tires. Our strategy was brave, and it got pretty tight, but fortunately it worked for us.” Nico Müller didn’t get a perfect start from second on the grid. “There was more grip than I expected,” said the Swiss. “When René and Robin did some rallycrossing in front of me, I briefly had a clear view. -

06 Stimmen Rennen DTM Spielberg GB
Communications Motorsport Daniel Schuster Tel: +49 151 42134732 E-mail: [email protected] www.audi-motorsport.info Quotes after the race at the Red Bull Ring Ingolstadt/Spielberg, June 2, 2013 – After making strong recoveries, Mike Rockenfeller and Mattias Ekström as the best Audi drivers clinched positions four and five. Quotes after the DTM race at Spielberg (Austria). Dr. Wolfgang Ullrich (Head of Audi Motorsport): “It’s great that despite the adverse weather conditions in Austria so many spectators traveled to Spielberg. The crowd at the Red Bull Ring was truly impressive. And the fans saw another fantastic DTM race here. For us, it was a bit unfortunate today, though. We’re also far from agreeing with some of the decisions made by the race directors.” Dieter Gass (Head of DTM): “Basically, we can of course not be pleased with this result. We didn’t travel to Spielberg to finish fourth and fifth. We did expect more than that and on Saturday things were looking as though this would be possible. ‘Rocky’ (Mike Rockenfeller) and Mattias (Ekström) squeezed the maximum out of the situation. With a strong performance and a good strategy, they managed to finish in fourth and fifth place. The problem was that we lost the three Audi cars we had at the front of the grid during the course of the race – and thus an absolutely good result.” Mike Rockenfeller (Schaeffler Audi RS 5 DTM), 4th place “Fourth place is basically a very good result when you’ve got to start from position 13. My team did a very good job and I want to say a big ‘thank you’ to my guys. -
Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline with Successful DTM Season Opener
Audi MediaInfo Motorsport Communications Virginia Brusch Tel: +49 151 52817968 E-mail: [email protected] www.audi -mediacenter.com/en Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline with successful DTM season opener • Three podiums at the Hockenheimring and lead of the teams’ classification • Robin Frijns in second place of the drivers’ classification Hockenheim, May 5, 2019 – Zero points a year ago, 53 points on two days and the lead of the teams’ classification this time: Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline managed a good start to the new DTM season at the Hockenheimring. “With three podiums, this has been a strong opener for us,” says Thomas Biermaier, Sport Director of ABT Sportsline. “Congrats to both drivers and congrats to the team that worked extremely hard and did three really good pit stops. We can build on this.” The strong showing at Hockenheim began with a best time set by Nico Müller in the first free practice session on Friday. Accordingly, the Swiss was disappointed when he had to settle for tenth position on the grid in the rain on Saturday and eighth in the first of the two races. “Fortunately, I was able to provide exactly the right response on Sunday and in second place score a podium finish,” said the Swiss. “With three Audi drivers on podium, it was a great day for Audi and a great day for ABT.” Müller pulled off a lightning start on Sunday with which he improved from fourth to second position. Subsequently, he had to let René Rast pass, who drove to victory with a bold two-stop strategy, but Müller decided the duel against BMW driver Philipp Eng for second place in his favor, also thanks to a faster pit stop of his team.
