THE - ALLIANZ LADIES SLOVAK OPEN Women’s Professional for the first time in Slovakia

(B r a t i s l a v a, 22 nd April 2010) – The most prestigious women's European golf tour The Ladies European Tour (LET) comes in May to the golf course Gray Bear in Tale. With the tournament Allianz Ladies Slovak Open, the first master golf course in Slovakia becomes for the first time a part of the LET calendar, together with other prestigious events like Evian Masters in or Dubai Ladies Masters.

“Ladies European Tour is very popular worldwide. Therefore, we are glad that we managed to organise one of the tournaments in Slovakia as well,” says the promoter of the tournament, Mr. John Flanagan. On 27th - 30 th May, on the golf course Gray Bear in Tale, 126 professional players from all over the world will introduce themselves in four rounds of stroke play. The tournament is funded with 350,000 EUR. The winner gets 52 500 EUR.

The only Slovak professional women golf player – Zuzana Kamasová – is going to participate in the series of the Ladies European Tour, too. „I have always dreamed of the opportunity to play professional golf with top players at home. My personal couch participated in the design of the golf course and it belongs to the more difficult ones, however it is surely fair.” Big hope of Czech golf – Klára Spilková – will also strive for her position amongst world’s top players. She is only 15 and plays golf since she was 5.

Biggest stars of the tournament are surely and . Helen is currently the 8th best player in the world and the European number one. 46 years old Lara Davies has won 20 LPGA tournaments and 38 times confirmed her victory in LET tournaments. Only one or two more victories and Laura Jane Davis will enter the Hall of Fame of Golf.

In 2010, the Ladies European Tour is played on 27 golf courses in 20 countries worldwide, including Asia, Australia, New Zealand and Africa.
