    FISHING BREAKS TIME IS PRECIOUS • USE IT FISHING 2 INTRODUCTION I grew up surrounded by chalkstreams and my formative fishing years were spent on the River Meon, a tiny stream in the east of Hampshire. As my angling horizons expanded, it came as something of a shock to discover that not all rivers were gin-clear, full of fish you could see that were eager to take a well-chosen fly when the hatch was on. The more I have travelled and the more I have fished, the more I have come to realise how very special our English chalkstreams are. I would not be so arrogant as to tag them ‘the best fishing money can buy’ – every angler has a different benchmark for that, but these rivers are undeniably unique for all the very best of reasons. It is now more than 30 years since I started Fishing Breaks and it remains an enormous pleasure to share with you the thrill of fly fishing on these beautiful chalkstreams. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is the principal Federal agency responsible for conserving, protecting, and enhancing fi sh, wildlife, plants, and their habitats for the continuing benefi t of the American people. The Service manages the 150-million acre National Wildlife Refuge System comprised of more than 550 national wildlife refuges and thousands of waterfowl production areas. It also operates 70 national fi sh hatcheries and 81 ecological services fi eld stations. The agency enforces Federal wildlife laws, manages migratory bird populations, restores nationally signifi cant fi sheries, conserves and restores wildlife habitat such as wetlands, administers the Endangered Species Act, and helps foreign governments with their conservation efforts. It also oversees the Federal Assistance Program which distributes hundreds of millions of dollars in excise taxes on fi shing and hunting equipment to state wildlife agencies. Comprehensive Conservation Plans provide long term guidance for management decisions and set forth goals, objectives, and strategies needed to accomplish refuge purposes and identify the Service’s best estimate of future needs. These plans detail program planning levels that are sometimes substantially above current budget allocations and, as such, are primarily for Service strategic planning and program prioritization purposes. The plans do not constitute a commitment for staffi ng increases, operational and maintenance increases, or funding for future land acquisition.

Sadržani su i podaci iz Bosne i Hercegovine u saglasnosti sa Odlukom 4 sa sastanka ISBC 2008. godine. Za konje koji su oždrebljeni u Jugoslaviji do 2000. godine i uvršteni u Jugoslovensku poreklopisnu knjigu data je skraćenica za zemlju porekla (YUG). Za konje oždrebljene u Srbiji od 2001. godine data je skraćenica za zemlju porekla (SRB). Za konje oždrebljene u Bosni i Hercegovini od 2001. godine data je skraćenica za zemlju porekla (BIH) u saglasnosti sa Međunarodnim sporazumom o odgoju, trkama i klađenju, Prilog 2. Za sve uvezene konje skraćenice za zemlje porekla su prikazane u skladu sa Međunarodnim sporazumom o odgoju, trkama i klađenju. Za konje oždrebljene u Srbiji i Jugoslaviji date su reference iz Srpske poreklopisne knjige za konje engleske punokrvne rase i Jugoslovenskih poreklopisnih knjiga i ženska linija do pretka koji je registrovan u poreklopisnoj knjizi priznatoj od strane ISBC. Takođe, date su reference za priplodne kobile uvrštene u Srpsku poreklopisnu knjigu za konje engleske punokrvne rase Knjiga 1.
