Job Title: ACT Assistant Leader/ACT Specialist (family, , substance abuse, housing, court liaison)

Reports to: Team Leader

Overview: The Assistant Team Leader is a professional specialist on the team and is also the deputy to the Nathaniel Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team Leader. The assistant team leader assumes the functions, responsibilities and clinical oversight in the Team Leader’s absence. The Assistant Team Leader (TL) also coordinates administrative functions. The Assistant TL ensures the team meets its performance outcomes as defined by the NYS Office of Mental Health licensing standards, NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) contracting standards, NYC Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice contract, City Council funding and pass through federal Project for Assistance in Transition from Homelessness (PATH) funding. Working in collaboration with the team leader, senior staff and the ACT staff ensures the effective clinical and administrative operation of the team to promote the effective treatment and supervision of ACT alternative-to-incarceration recipients.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the clinical and administrative operations of the ACT Team and reports on status of the team’s performance to the Team Leader and senior agency staff • Lead the daily organizational meeting and weekly clinical team meeting • Coordinate the intake of new participants in collaboration with the intake specialist • Direct team members to complete daily service delivery to program recipients to ensure consumers receive services based on current needs and risk • Continue to deliver services as a specialist on the team • Ensure the team functions in accordance with State and City licensing and contract standards for ACT • Promote and monitor team performance to ensure the team achieves positive outcomes in terms of reducing homelessness, reducing participant hospitalization and emergency room visits, reducing drug use, reducing participant use of dangerous behaviors, and reducing criminal recidivism • Complete notification within expected timelines to Assisted Outpatient Treatment (AOT) program • Provide emergency back-up to team members

• Respond to emergency and crisis situations to ensure team member’s safety, appropriate interventions, and incident reporting in accordance with procedures and good practice • Provide culturally competent services in accordance with CASES policies and practice • Coordinate program intakes and discharges • Approve timesheets and vacation requests

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in psychology, social work, or related field; • Professional NYS clinical license; • Must have SIFI • At least three years of experience providing services to adults with serious mental illness; • Experience working in community mental health settings that provides services to recipients in-vivo in the community; • At least two years of experience working on a multidisciplinary team; • Knowledge of the criminal justice system, court processes and alternative to incarceration services; and • Spanish speaking preferred. ) How to apply: E-mail and resume in Word or PDF format to [email protected] .
