2 Nights Kuala Lumpur, 1 Night Genting, 2 Nights Penang ) MALAYSIA MAUJ 5 NIGHTS/ 6 DAYS ( 2 NIGHTS KUALA LUMPUR, 1 NIGHT GENTING, 2 NIGHTS PENANG ) Description Malaysia is a Southeast Asian country occupying parts of the Malay Peninsula and the island of Borneo. It's known for its beaches, rainforests and mix of Malay, Chinese, Indian and European cultural influences. The capital, Kuala Lumpur, is home to colonial buildings, busy shopping districts such as Bukit Bintang and skyscrapers such as the iconic, 451m-tall Petronas Twin Towers. Tour Highlights Kuala Lumpur: The official residence of the Malaysian King, the Istana Negara, is also situated in Kuala Lumpur. In addition, Kuala Lumpur is home to the tallest twin buildings in the world, the Petronas Twin Towers, which have become an iconic symbol of Malaysia's futuristic development. Genting: The Main Range - also known poetically as Banjaran Titiwangsa in Malay - is a ridge of Granite Mountains that forms Peninsula Malaysia’s north-south backbone. Many of the range’s peaks reach above 6,000 feet and this is where the cool hill stations of Cameron Highlands, Fraser’s Hill and Genting Highlands lie. Genting is acknowledged as Malaysia’s premier hillside station; this Kuala Lumpur mountain peak getaway is Malaysia’s Asian-style Las Vegas. Renowned for its casino, nightlife and luxury hotels, it features the First World Hotel – which was listed as the world's largest hotel in 2006 by the Guinness World Book of Records. Penang : Penang is a Malaysian state located on the northwest coast of Peninsular Malaysia, by the Strait of Malacca. It has two parts: Penang Island, where the capital city, George Town, is located, and Seberang Perai (formerly Province Wellesley), on the Malay Peninsula. Page 1/6 Attractions and Shopping Tips Kuala Lumpur: Petronas Towers, Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur Bird Park, Kuala Lumpur Tower, Aquaria KLCC, Batu Caves, Merdeka Square, Kuala Lumpur, Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia, Sultan Abdul Samad Building, Suria KLCC, Petaling Street Shopping Tips: If you ever get tired of Kuala Lumpur’s malls then head over to one of the city’s street markets: outdoor bazaars that are the superpowers in the city’s shopping scene, the best of which is Petaling Street. It rules the roost with a jambalaya of stalls selling knockoff handbags, wallets, purses, shoes, belts, watches and more as well as booths with DIY home decorations, traditional handicrafts and kitsch knick knacks. Those looking to grab art pieces by local artists can head to Central Market while Chow Kit Market and Kasturi Walk are filled with mini stalls selling everything from sunglasses and second hand books to pre-loved clothes and figurines. Genting: Genting Highlands has a myriad range of attractions for the whole family to enjoy, beside the theme parks and shopping centers at the peak. The Strawberry Farm at Gohtong Jaya is a place where the whole family can pluck strawberries and purchase them by weight. Near the peak, the Mushroom Farm is an established tourist attraction that also Page 2/9 houses a souvenir shop, vegetable market and seafood restaurants. Next, Chin Swee Temple is a sprawling Chinese temple complex with many architectural displays that include giant statues, prayer halls and a pagoda tower. Finally, Happy Bee Farm produces local honey with a gallery open to visitors along with an insect display. Shopping Tips: At the first floor of the huge complex you will find many shops selling all kinds of products. There are numerous trendy shops with clothing, jewelry, shoes and accessories; there is even a Factory Outlet Store. There also are a few restaurants, and of course the fast food places like Burger King, McDonald's, Pizza Hut and KFC. Among the coffee bars are Starbucks and Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. Many of these landscapes cannot be isolated from the énclave as they are integral to and part of its cultural mosaic and character. Perhaps the most important are the Penang Hill hill-station landscape and the ‗Waterfall‘ Botanic Gardens. The latter is an under-valued ‗garden of the empire‘—a garden that significantly underpinned the development and historical and botanical stature of the Singapore Botanic Gardens. This paper reviews the cultural significance of colonial botanic gardens as they were established around the world during the scientific explosion of the late 1800s.
