R egistration Information By completing the registration form found below, you can sign up via mail for any of the classes offered. Complete the form making sure you use the correct activity dates and write a check payable for the full amount to the “City of Oxnard.” Do not include material fees. Drop the form in the mail at least two weeks before the first class date. We will send you a receipt by return mail that you can take to the first class. Registration for classes is also accepted at the Recreation Division Office located at 545 South “A” Street. All classes are filled on a first-come, first served basis and are subject to cancellation if the class minimum is not met (this includes online enrollment). Don’t wait! Register now! Just complete the form below and mail it to the Recreation Office with your payment. We will send your receipt by return mail.(Mail-in option DOES NOT guarantee registration. Please call to confirm adequate space for enrollment.)

Refund Policy All recreation classes, activities and sports programs must meet minimum registration requirements to be conducted. If minimum registration is not met, the activity will be canceled and a full refund will be mailed to each prospective participant. Participants canceling prior to the first class meeting, activity, or sports program deadline will be charged a 20% service charge. This policy is necessary to assure continuation of the program for other participants. No refund to participants cancelling after the 2nd class meeting, activity deadline or sports program scheduling. Rental deposits and fees for athletic fields/ facilities are non-refundable and non-transferable. Please allow 21 working days to process and return your refund by mail (refund checks are processed on the 15th of each month). Program and class schedules are subject to change.

Students will have the opportunity to learn phonics with animal characters, sounds and body movements that relate to animals/letters, allowing your child to utilize the alphabet immediately. Zoo phonics is used in thousands of schools to teach phonemic awareness, reading, spelling and writing. Because zoo phonics uses animal letters and body signals, students gain easy concepts of the alphabet, but also to shapes and sounds. This class will be an essential building block to language. The PAL Youth Resource Center has opened new avenues for PAL and rather than facing its many challenges alone, PAL has joined forces with many public service organizations to create a one-stop youth-serving center at Campus Park. Mighty Mights Basketball Program The City of Oxnard Recreation & Community Services will offer a youth (boys & girls), age 5 to 6 years old instructional basketball league. The instructional league will not keep score, emphasizing the enjoyment of the sport, skills, sportsmanship, and team play. Lowered baskets and reduced size balls will be used to encourage learning and enjoyment. Parents are invited to participate in the learning process. League play will begin on Saturday, July 7, 2012.
