The of America was founded on the values of Honor, Courage, Dedication, Leadership and Teamwork – all principles that guide our decisions and encourage each of us to embrace a higher standard. It is these ideals that are the bedrock of Team WOGA – values necessary to build a foundation of trust upon which strength is based and success is achieved.

It is in these values that Team WOGA gymnasts inspire us with a sense of great responsibility to have uncompromising personal integrity; to have the courage to stand up for what is right in the face of stress and peer-pressure; to harness the spirit of dedication to serve our team, our community and our country; and to encourage cooperation and communication in an open solution-oriented manner.

Through gymnastics, our young women and men are empowered with these essential qualities that lead to dynamic leadership and develop the nation’s finest professionals, committed to multidimensional services and sincere community partnerships. Our Background

Mission It is the mission of WOGA Gymnastics to provide the opportunity for young athletes to make a lasting contribution to the sport of gymnastics while developing life-long leadership skills.

Philosophy A key factor to the success of WOGA Gymnastics is the expertise and dedication of our world-class coaching staff – giving 100 percent to each athlete, regardless of age or competitive level. We foster internal competition, which pushes athletes to their full potential, helping all team members achieve their individual dreams.

We believe that in order for Team WOGA to win medals for the USA, we must nurture a strong team composed of willing and able gymnasts, at every competitive level, who fully understand they are an important part of our country’s future. The Tactical Genius Behind WOGA was a gymnast in the former and was the first person in the world to perform a triple back flip on the . He was a Gold and Silver Medalist at the 1988 Olympic games in Seoul, and holds numerous World and International titles. Since settling into his coaching career, Liukin has coached numerous USA National Team members, including his daughter 2008 Olympic All- Around Gold Medalist Nastia Liukin.

Liukin is an American icon. Olympian and Commentator Tim Daggett said, “It’s not just that she does super hard stuff. It’s that she does it flawlessly.” Dreams Fulfilled – Carly Patterson

At sixteen years-old Carly Patterson became the second women from the United States to win an All-Around Olympic Gold Medal. Her trademark precision and grace, had already earned her numerous titles including 2002 and 2004 US National Champion, 2003 American Cup Champion and 2003 World All-Around Silver Medalist.

In , Carly was able to submit her original beam dismount to the Code of Points, and it has now been officially named the “Patterson.”

Since retiring from gymnastics, Patterson continues to pursue a successful music career as a solo artist.

“Her life has changed tremendously since winning the Olympics,” coach Evgency Marchenko says. “She’s been blessed with a lot of different opportunities. She’s been traveling the country, traveling the world, and that journey continues. She’s a down-to-earth person. She always has been. But, at the same time, I see her becoming a role model for a lot of young people. Bringing smiles to a lot of people's faces. “What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.” - Ralph Waldo Emerson

A portion of the team’s expenses is underwritten by the WOGA Parent’s Club, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization formed to support the USAG competitive teams of WOGA Gymnastics. Through member dues and a series of fundraisers, they offset some of the team’s expenses. The bulk of the expenses, however, are subsidized by WOGA.

“Total team expenses have exceeded income each of the last few years. The Olympic victories are a proud and significant achievement, not only for WOGA, but for our nation. The influx of new and promising talent have increased budget and equipment needs to the point where the future of WOGA Gymnastics and its programs are dependent on establishing ongoing partnerships,” said WOGA founder and owner Yevgeny Marchenko.

Team WOGA continues to operate exclusively to foster amateur gymnasts who show the ability and potential to engage in national and international gymnastic competitions. Funds are needed for training, coaching, facilities, equipment and amateur gymnastic competition opportunities, throughout the United States and internationally. Please help us preserve this valuable resource by partnering with us. 2010 WOGA Classic
