While the Saints gained only one point on Nov. 1 at Clarkson W, 4-0 the road last weekend with a tie at Princeton, they did clinch at least home ice for Nov. 7 at Brown* W, 5-2 the first round of the playoffs. They remain in second place behind Quinnipiac, three Nov. 8 at Yale* W, 4-0 points ahead of third place Yale and four up on fourth place Harvard with Dartmouth Nov. 14 at #6 Colgate* L, 5-2 lurking just one more point back in fifth with eight points left on the table. Harvard Nov. 15 at Cornell* W, 4-2 comes into Friday’s “Code Red” Night in which fans are asked to wear red in support of the Saints, coming off a three point weekend with a win at home against Colgate Nov. 21 PRINCETON* W, 3-0 and a tie against Cornell. Dartmouth had a six-game win streak snapped with a 3-0 Nov. 22 QUINNIPIAC* L, 3-2 OT loss to Colgate at home on Saturday night. Dec. 12 at Vermont L, 2-1 Dec. 13 VERMONT L, 2-0 TOUGH TRIP: While the effort was there, the goals weren’t as the Saints were edged 2-1 by Quinnipiac in a meeting of the top two teams in the league on Friday night Jan. 2 at Northeastern T, 3-3 and settled for a 1-1 tie at Princeton on Saturday. The Quinnipiac loss snapped a Jan. 3 at Northeastern L, 4-2 seven-game Saint win streak and was the first league loss on the road since the Jan. 9 CORNELL* W, 3-1 Colgate game on Nov. 14. Feb. 7 UNION* W, 7-1 Feb. 13 at Quinnipiac* L, 2-1 THE SAINT STAFF: Greg Carvel is in his third season as Saint head coach after posting Feb. 14 at Princeton* T 1-1 OT one of the best records for a first-year coach in program history in his rookie season. Carvel was named the second Charles W. Appleton II Head Men’s Hockey Coach in the spring of 2012. He was an Academic All America and a three-time winner of the Brian McFarlane Award for academic and athletic accomplishments. He *-ECAC Games is joined behind the Saint bench by Associate Head Coach Mike Hurlbut ‘89, a former #-Best of three series All America defenseman who was part of two ECAC Championship teams at SLU and had a 14-year professional playing career and assistant coach Jared DeMichiel, who is in his first season with the Saints after assisting at Nazareth last season. DeMichiel was an outstanding goaltender for RIT, leading that team to the Frozen Four as a senior.
