We suggest picking up a printed program at the avent so you can follow along with our Broadwat Star Grid during the live stream. We do not ship awards! Schools must have at least one representative in attebndance to receive awards. Acts 001 - 475 Broadway Star Award Titles will Be presented 10:00PM SUNDAY...END OF EVENT page 1 COMPETITION SCHEDULE FRIDAY 12:30pm Friday February 26, 2021…Atlanta, GA...Session 1...The Venue @ Friendship Springs SCHOOL CODE G...performers and guests only allowed in the building during this session. 1...Each performer is allowed two adult guests and their siblings. Please do not invite additional people. We have a capacity mandate from the “State of Georgia” & “The Venue” that we need that we need adhere to throughout our event. 2...All attendees must wear facial masks while inside “The Venue” 3...Performers are not required by the “State of Georgia” & “The Venue to wear facial masks or clear visors while onstage in the MCCC Center. We encourage anyone who wants wear facial coverings to do so. Your decision either way, will have no bearing on judges scores. 4...All performers must immediately mask up as soon as they leave the stage. 5...The Access Broadway Registration Area will only be open to this school during this session. 6...The dressing rooms will only be used by one studio at a time during their session. 7...All rooms will be will be fog sanitized in between each school session. Our microphones are sanitized after every use by our industrial grade UV light sanitizer. 8...Access Broadway will be live streaming this event to all attendees so you can follow along viewing the event from anywhere you choose. We will send a link to the Studio Directors at the beginning of each days competition that we ask them to share with all performers, families and friends. The Access Broadway Registration Area will be open to the school that is is session only. We will help everyone within social distancing guidelines. Please do not enter the building until it’s your session time. We have clothing, other merchandise and videos of the performances for sale. We are not doing still photos this year because of no customer viewing capabilities due to (COVID). In place of that, we have our new VIP Media pass in which you may take your own photos and video from our designated media press box. For the fee of ($30) per act, we allow one person to video or take as many pictures from our press box of that act. If a school wants to record all of their acts, you receive a 20% discount and each act cost ($25). You can purchase a single act ticket ($30) or a full studio order at ($25 per act). Please Note: We only accept “Cash Only” for all purchases. Title: Hospice Nurses as “Midwives to the Dying”: Guiding Life’s Important Journeys Abstract approved: ________________________________________________________________________ Courtney S. Campbell This thesis explores the metaphor of hospice nurses as “midwives to the dying” by applying philosophical inquiry to the field of hospice. I focus on the history of the movements, their professional approaches to caregiving, and the core commitments of both the modern midwifery and hospice movements. Although focused on different ends of the life cycle, the two professions share many similarities and a method of caring that are set against—and provide a critique of—the institutionalized care of the biomedical model. In addition, interviews with both midwives and hospice nurses allow the thesis to move beyond philosophical inquiry by examining how the metaphor is reflected in the approach to care of the hospice nurses. A better understanding of the dying process has the potential to change our attitudes and beliefs about something that has become taboo in Western culture. Hospice has played, and will continue to play, a role in this important change. Deepening the understanding of hospice care, for those both within and outside the movement, provides an important contribution to this attitudinal shift. © Copyright by Jessica C.
