When the very fabric of our lives and community seems to be hanging by a thread and the threatening scissors of separation and isolation are inching ever closer to making that final sneering snip. Nevertheless, while “social” may be a misnomer for our masked melancholy, may we each do our best to pass this test—together—and not let things that matter the most to us be at the mercy of the things that matter the least. The second Final Friday Art Walk of the year took place on Cedar City’s Center Street on July 31st. There were many familiar faces accompanied by beautiful artwork in the crowd of artists. The Cedar City Arts Council also hosted a mini-grant writing workshop in harmony with the Art Walk where visitors could learn all they need to know about writing a great grant application. Music was performed throughout the evening at various locations by wonderful artists; Bill and Loretta Westbrook, Cedar Melody Music, Stan and Lindsay Szczesny, Cedar Skies Duo and The Grimshaw Family. The Cedar City Arts Council will host two more Art Walks during the sum- mer in Cedar City, August 28th and September 25th.
