The Centre is located at Kensington, on the historical site of St Joseph’s Convent—the first permanent Josephite Mother House which was established by Mary MacKillop in 1872, and where she lived, prayed and worked until 1883.

St Joseph’s Chapel * Mary MacKillop’s much-loved place of prayer, has become a place of pilgrimage, prayer and peace for people of all backgrounds. Come … breathe in Mary’s spirit ... pray where she prayed so often ... experience an inner peace. St Joseph’s Chapel is open to all each day: 8.30am to 4.00pm.
Mary MacKillop Exhibition Centre * This has both permanent and temporary displays. These capture the spirit of Mary MacKillop, showcasing the early Josephite story in South Australia, and focussing on the Sisters’ very practical and human responses to the urgent needs of their times.
Visitors can travel back in time and touch into this unique and inspiring story—and discover that Mary’s spirit is just as relevant and needed in today’s world!
Suitable for both children and adults, the Centre is open to individuals and groups from 10am until 4pm, Monday to Thursday. (Bookings are required for group visits) Although closed on public holidays, the Centre can be opened at other times by negotiation.
The shop has a large range of resources, souvenirs and St Mary MacKillop devotional items. Books suitable for adults as well as children are available.

Good Grief — Seasons for Growth
Good Grief is a ministry of the Sisters of St. Joseph which provides support for people in times of change, loss and grief through its programs and resources. The main program, Seasons for Growth©, is a small group- withdrawal program which supports people experiencing emotional difficulty following family break-up, death or other losses. Over time it has proved to be very effective as participants discover that “they are not the only one” having problems. The Seasons for Growth© Program uses the imagery of the seasons and Worden’s tasks of grief to enable participants to address their own issues. Good Grief services include: Training to run the Seasons for Growth© Program Professional Development and Information sessions Provision of support resources for grief. Introduction to the Enneagram The Enneagram is one tool of ancient origin which enables us to discover more about our personal self- development, our unique strengths and gifts as well as our compulsions and balances. It increases our understanding of others and the ways we relate. The Enneagram was brought to our attention through the Jesuits and has assisted many in their personal growth. Between 1996 and 2008, Katrina completed twelve years in Josephite Leadership: first as Provincial of Aotearoa/NZ and then as Congregational Leader. She is presently back in ANZ ministering in Josephite projects, as a board member for a

The treasure contained in the Constitutions of the Sisters of St Joseph hearkens back to our original rule penned in 1867 by Father Julian Woods. For here we find a description of what lies at the heart of our Congregational life – the Spirit-gift that impels us forward, as it did Mary MacKillop, to embrace those ‘whom nothing but great love of God could keep faith alive in them’ (J. T. Woods, 1887). Our retreat will touch once again into this Spirit.

Moya Unthank rsj began her ministry as a primary teacher and then became involved in Adult Faith Education at the Pastoral Formation Centre in the Archdiocese of Melbourne. After taking up a position as a co-ordinator at St Joseph’s Spirituality Centre, Baulkham Hills, Sydney, she moved into the area of spirituality. Moya now ministers as a spiritual director, retreat facilitator and continues in Adult Faith Formation. The great mystics of the Church have been a particular

In the footsteps of A spiritual oasis in a busy city! St Mary of the Cross MacKillop:
October 24 - November 1, 2014 An 11-Day Guided Pilgrimage, prepared and led by a team of Sisters of St Joseph - and designed to help you enter more deeply into Mary’s story and spirituality Beginning in Melbourne, where Mary was born, Pilgrims will travel by bus through Western Victoria to Hamilton and Portland, and thence to Penola—’where it all began’—before travelling through the South-East of South Australia to Adelaide, to visit places of significance in the Josephite story. From there, they will fly to Sydney where the Pilgrimage continues, with three days and nights visiting sites linked with Mary and the early Josephites. Accommodation is at Mary MacKillop Place, North Sydney, where Mary lived, died and is buried, and where so much of the Josephite story is immortalised.
