I have a lot of packing to do and some thing’s to finalize before graduation and you know it’s in 3 days baby , lol, stop playing girl , turn over ! She pouts with the bottom lip hanging and say’s, “OH ALRIGHT , ALRIGHT, I’M GETTING UP ! He smacks her ass as she crawl’s to the edge of the bed on her knees , if only he could spank it a few more time’s , but nope..lol!

This is the beginning of a love affair that turn’s into marriage, all within one week’s time before the big move to NYC!! Straight into the shower , they share a few more kisses and then their Iphone’s, go haywire with calls ! And yes I would do just about anything to be a partner in that firm because they handle the really high profile celebrity cases, which is my mission, as well. Mr. Dunn says, “ You know you’re my best student and I depend on you , son, I’m so proud of you graduating at the top of your class! Ok drive safely here and I will see you in a bit!!{ click, and I didn’t even hear the last word, I’m thinking I need a joint to smoke before class , and if I get there in the next 5 minutes I can take a few puffs. He gestures..{ Tripping, man get on up in this building , I’m hungry as a horse….lol…I skipped breakfast so I didn’t have to fuss with my ole lady , She know I’m about to leave so she acting crazy….she poured honey all over my Jordan collection last night man, DAMNNNNNN!!??? Everybody stopped in their tracks!! James said, “ She really tripping I would have made her buy me new pairs to replace them all ! James passed his finals, Niecy had an awesome final dance exam , and got top honors! The graduation was awesome with family and friends! The wedding was nice , small and very loving and their last night in college, was memorable! Whew…….it’s the middle of the night, James is asleep and I just want to soak it all in. See I know I’m lying here in his arms, and our lives as we knew it , will be over as school grads in the morning . Once we get on that plane to , NYC, our lives as Mr and Mrs. Cashe’ begins. (sighs,as I turn to hold him tight and kiss his chest)..wow. I’m gazing and thinking, how will I measure up to be this wife of an attorney? He’s very strong in body and mind, but he’s also carrying a temper he’s been slowly trying to keep under control since high school. Hell, I almost left him a few times because of it, but every time he calms down, we fuck, and he sucks me right back in. No wonder I feel like part of me is settling . Why did I marry him? Because the good outweighs the bad, and I love him madly.

So, I’m going to stick and stay. Be the wifey he’s always wanted and try to keep my happiness on top ! If there ever comes a time that my happiness doesn’t matter to him , and we can’t work thing out? I gotta bounce!

We had an awesome night, and in 4 hours we have to be up, packed and on our way to New York City, so , I’m going to get up , let him rest, make a few more calls and just be ready when my man arises ! James yells from the bathroom,” Niecy who was that , I’m not expecting anybody! “ It was the maintenance guy you called last month to fix the sink, now that you’re leaving they show up to fix it , smh…! Neicy yells back. James walks out fine as hell in sweats and a hoody and sneakers. “Ready? he says..I say, “ Ready! We grab bags and get to the airport just in time to board , as soon as we were seated we took off ! I had the window seat and James was busy talking to the new firm about our arrival and him having to show up at 6am the Monday ! It was Saturday morning so we only had a day and a half to get settled in . WOW! This is really happening. We had a small conversation about who’s career would take off first, we agreed it would be his. Then after a set time I could get my dance studio up and running. But I keep feeling in my gut like James haven’t told me all of his true feelings just yet, and I don’t want to stress him , but I will if it starts to break my concentration. One thing I have to have is communication and he knows I’m his ride or die, but if we need to talk, I will initiate!...hmmm…My appetite spikes a little as I look out the window at the skyline of the big city! It looks like a tough place, but beautiful place full of opportunities!....{ LADIES AND GENTLEMAN, WERE ABOUT TO LAND , PLEASE FASTEN YOUR SEATBELTS AND THANK YOU FOR TRAVELING WITH US!}…..The car was ready when we got there, a rental for now , but James will get a company loaner car on Monday ! For whatever reason this Law firm has , they tend to keep everything high and mighty, so even the interns get a car to only work in, no personal stuff. Only emergency travels are to be used in the car for home base. WOW! I don’t know if I will get along with his colleagues but I love my husband so I will try to respect the reason he wants to be a part of this firm ! …3 hours have gone by….we have 23

unpacked , the furniture has been delivered and I’m almost done decorating and making the beds. We have a nice 2 bedroom , and I don’t think we can afford it but James assured me , his income will keep us here ! I grab his hand, scarf on my head , t shirt, a little sweaty, so is he, and I ask, “ Hon, are you nervous about Monday? It sounds like this place will make a lot of tough demands of you, and I know we agreed to get your career off the ground first, but can you promise me something? He asked, ‘’ What?” ..I say, “ Can you promise me that we will make time for each other when we can and you won’t let that firm wear you down and check your standards as a man , as a lawyer your skills should be appreciated , can you not ever forget that?” He just looked at me with the most loving eyes, took my hand, we showered ,made love and fell asleep from sheer exhaustion. 3# What’s The 411?? It’s Sunday morning! Man, oh man this city never sleeps and I need some, omg? Really ? How will I ever get use to this? James got up early to get his briefcase in order and he made time for breakfast! Ladies, it’s a plus to have a man that can cook, takes the pressure off of you……We go for a drive and he’s showing me the sites like the Apollo theatre and the statue of liberty, Radio City Music Hall , The famous Macy’s store , AND ALL ! WOW! It’s a lot to absorb , and the hoes walking down the street are distracting , if you care, but I don’t. Plenty of places to eat and shop and entertain yourself I guess. Too “ LISTEN, says James, “ I don’t want you going too far from home until we are here for a while and pleas always lock your doors , on the car and at home even if you are not moving around, do you hear me??

I shook my head yes and amazed at the tone in his voice? Nothing I have heard before, somewhere between concerned and demandingly bossy! Hmmm….it’s beginning to rain, and I know what that means, his hand is already on my thigh, caressing me as he drives through this hectic traffic. I use to love his hands all over me anywhere , anytime, but in this traffic , I am a little tense. “ um, baby is this an everyday thing? 4# GETTING MY FEET WET ….IN THE BIZ!

It’s Sunday night, a new home, a new city , so I decided to treat my man to a new dish to eat. “ James you need to get showered before dinner and get out of that game , do you hear me? “ Yes wifey , lol. “ Cute real cute, I will be that, get up!!!!! “ OK , Let me see the last of this quarter and then I will go. “ Alright Mr. Cashe’, because dinner is served at 8…. Oh yes I can throw down in the kitchen and I believe my second calling would have been a Chef, but I love to dance. That’s my passion. {pinching my side, I have a little love handle popping off } Oh well that’s life! 8pm rolls around . Were eating and playing footsie under the table, and he’s looking at me like I will be dessert. “ I Say, Baby I am not sleeping in the room tonight so you can really get rest and get up on time, for your first day ! Are you mad? “ Awwwwe, Baby I need to feel you there! Now I have 10,000 I have in savings and it will give me a small studio to start out with , and enough to maybe get a loan to do renovations and advertising!. It’s a dream now but not for long. James should make partner in no time, and as soon as he announces to me that he is a shoe in then I will break my news to him that I will be starting my new career!! Never wait to get your goals started you have to be ready when the opportunity knocks……( phone ringing? Awwe, we did have to leave in a hurry after the wedding , but we left the address !! WOW! Family and friends , you can’t do better than that . Especially if you need them in a crisis. My day…..nice………meanwhile …at the office…

“ James, could you come to my office for a sec, just for a sec it’s some things we need to go over now that you are here with us, ( Mr. Mills sticks his head back in the door, Oh and Welcome to the Team!....James smiled, closed his laptop and went down to his office and tap the door ! “ Come in , come in Mr. Cashe’ how are you fitting in? . Mr. Mills puffs on his cigar and ask me if I had any photos of my wife? “ Why yes you know I better have her in this wallet, lol, here you go , what you think? Mr. Mills looks at the photo kinda longer than expected, and ask me, “ So when will we get to meet this fine drink of wine?? Now , I hae never had to step to anyone about my wife, but right now I’m on a new job, trying to fit in, so I will consider that as a compliment! “ um…Whenever we can arrange dinner or something you ca meet her , but sir, you didn’t answer my question. Will I get any cases this week?....Mr. Mills shakes off the ashes in the tray and he says, “ not yet son, you will be assisting me , tagging along, learning how we do things with the clients and why they hire us, the celebs, see you up for that? Your pay stays the same though!

So, my first week was exactly that!! We took on several new cases , rappers, actors, you name it, but we can’t talk about it! The firm doesn’t even let you do press unless were all together and that means all staff so nobody can misquote anything!! Man oh man I tell you , I asked for this life but , I can’t tell Niecy that it’s harder than I thought it would be, I dragged her all the way here so I can’t give up now !

We all left the office at 7pm, and I always called Niecy when we leave and again when I am on my way home! Shit sometimes I don’t see my baby until 10pm…. I am trying to fit in and she understands it, but her voice, I miss it. We are not talking lie we use to , just no time to do it, but she loves me and I love her . I keep telling myself I am a good husband and I’m doing my best! But at times I just don’t know! THIS BRIEFCASE IS MY LIFE, BUT JUST A PART!

It’s the city that never sleeps! You can easily get suckered into a lot of nonsense things, if your head is not on straight or you appear to be weak! All my life I have wanted to be a lawyer, but I wonder sometimes how far would I go to be there, to keep that job !! My emotions have been different since college! I believe I love my job, but I don’t want to put it before my family, my wifey! Whew, James pull yourself together man, aint nobody been able to talk me into doing nothing I don’t want to ! But everytime Mr. Mills passes my door , he sticks in his head and ask me about my progress and about my wife!!!

NOW!! I’m starting to feel disrespected, in my workplace!

I use to think he was kidding , but at the end of the month, I know he’s not playing. I’m just waiting for the bomb to ignite! James hollers out to Steven, his buddy, since day #1……” Steven when are we going to play pool, you know I have to get at my lady to free up the time! Steven , he picks up his coat and says, “ Awe man, check back with me on that next Friday, WE NEED TO DO THAT MOS DEF!!!.....and the elevator closes….before I leave , I make calls and I order my baby flowers, yellow roses, just because, yes I am romantic when I want to be.

in a spiral all night trying to guess what my boss wants. But Niecy has a way of redirecting my focus and I love that about her. She’s my calm I swear….and she’s wearing my favorite ensemble, T shirt , no bra and a thong, painted toes and her hair is flowing like a breeze. She definitely can take my mind off the day, so I’m going to surprise her with my conversation tonight, I want to hear about her day and her dreams for once. We haven’t talked about her wants since we moved here.

She just looks at me as if it was a joke that I’m even asking! “ Why are we getting into this if I can’t go all the way with it? Are you kidding me right now or you really wanna know? “ Ok, yes I really want the studio still, I will be teaching ballet to the smaller kids and hip hop to the older kids and it will be a mix of classic ballet and traditional dance, because I’m diverse! …”WOW, says James, you really have it down! While Niecy is in surgery, I gather enough calm to get her parents and her friend’s numbers to the nurse to call them for me !
