Charity Foundation funds well guarded

The Charity Foundation has tried very hard to improve its image after the trav- esty of the embezzlement. We are now in possession of the same amount of money that the membership of the ACBL had contributed in good faith. We have continued to make contributions to very worthy causes that you would be proud of. The five trustees were audited and totally in shock when the auditors and trustees were stolen from. We have new accounting methods that make it just about impossible for your money to be stolen again. We also have voted to upscale our thank-you cards. The ways by which you make contributions other than through ACBL Charity Games are most appreciated. You are making contributions to honor our deceased friends with memorials, to honor a big win by one of your friends, to honor a kindness shown to you, to honor someone who exhibited active ethics -- maybe just to honor someone who is not playing as often and whom you miss. From the above I’d like to make the first contribution. I really miss Betty Ann being on the scene. The trustees want you to know that it is our duty to disburse your funds in the proper way. I know we, the ACBL, are proud to be part of an organization that works so hard to help others. Thank you. CAROL SANDERS, President 12 TODAY’S SCHEDULE Daily Bulletin
