In 1962 , and formed the band The Rolling Stones, a year later to be joined by and Bill Wyman. Over the next few years, the band became Britain’s rising stars of rock and roll scene and the anti-heroes to the emerging fresh-faces of the Beatles. From to May 1966, a young Danish photographer called Bent Rej experienced unique and intimate access to this up and coming new young band. He became one of the band’s trusted inner circle and accompanied them on their first European outing: the “Satisfaction” tour. During his time in their company as a friend and documenter, Bent Rej captured the band in all their guises: at home, on tour, writing songs, on stage and in their private . This extraordinary book brings together for the very first time Bent Rej’s unique collection of 300 intimate and iconic of this charismatic young band on the brink of stardom.
