Flood, Drought, Earth Quake (Zone-III), Fire incidents, Epidemics, Heat waves, Cold waves and High Wind have been recurrent phenomena. In Kurukshetra District, the floods are mainly caused by Markanda River but sometimes, floods are also caused by overflow of water from Tangri River and several small Nallas namely Rakshi, Chutang, Jodha and Linda Nalla because of the excess surface run off from their catchment through this District. All these River/Nallas enter Thanesar Sub-Division of the District from District Ambala & pass through Sub-Division Pehowa to areas in Kaithal District. a) Bunds Along River Markanda 1.
