DCA is currently focused in providing support to the flood survivors of Saptakoshi Municipality, which is the worst affected municipality in the district. 27 families of the ward have been displaced. After meeting with the Ward No 6, Ward Disaster Management Committee, the process to register the most affected households, 375 families in the municipality has started. DCA SUPPORT TO FLOOD SURVIVORS: DCA Nepal has planned to reach 375 most vulnerable and displaced households. Destruction and damage of WASH (water hygiene sanitation) infrastructure lead to a high probability of waterborne diseases. To address the issue, we are distributing water purification tablets to 375 households (5 persons per household) for 10 days as well as hygiene/dignity kit products (toiletries and menstrual hygiene). Hygiene promotion activities will also be carried out through radio messages. DCA is mobilizing health promoters to provide awareness about hygiene issues to flood survivors and workshop for school students about menstrual hygiene.
