During the past year, 10 schools and kindergartens, which are used daily by more than 5,000 children, have been renovated and equipped through various projects.

IMPROVEMENT OF FRAMEWORK FOR GIVING

Since its establishment, Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation have been dedicated to the development of philanthropy. After ten years of successful work on philanthropy development, both across the country and in the diaspora, in the fall of 2017, the Foundation formed a Coalition for Giving together with partners from the Trag Foundation, the Smart Kolektiv, the Catalyst Foundation, the Serbian Philanthropy Forum, the 4 Responsible Business Forum and the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as organizations dealing with the long-term development of giving for the common good in Serbia. The goal of the Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation is to improve conditions for the growth and development of individual and corporate philanthropy in Serbia through cooperation and joint work with partners and state bodies. The Coalition for Giving, led by the Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation, has received support from USAID and in April 2018 began implementing the Project for Improvement the Framework for Giving.

The aims of the Project for Improvement the Framework for Giving are: • Strengthening philanthropic infrastructure that can contribute to the sustainable growth of philanthropic giving and the development of cross-sector partnerships • Improving the legal framework for the development of incentive and transparent giving by individuals and companies • Promotion of charity, culture of giving and transparency among citizens of the Republic of Serbia, companies, diaspora and non-profit organizations

Philanthropy Festival 2018 Knowing that improving the conditions for giving for the common good requires the cooperation of various participants and state bodies, the Coalition for Giving proposed the establishment of a Philanthropy Council which was established by the Prime Minister of Serbia in August 2018. The Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation continued to work closely with the media in promoting philanthropy and together with the partners from the Coalition for Giving started working on strategies for promoting philanthropy across the country, in collaboration with the media and other non-profit organizations locally.
