School singathon LITTLE Sutton CE Primary pupils and staff are attempting their first ever ‘Singathon’ – non-stop singing all afternoon on Thursday 1st March. This is to celebrate National Sing Up Day which takes place the same week, and to showcase the great singing that goes on in the school. Library is well red! ELLESMERE Port’s library is to glow red for a month to highlight cardiovascular disease as part of the British Heart Foundation’s (BHF) Red for Heart campaign which takes places during National Heart Month. During March the library will be floodlit red at dusk for a month to bring home to local residents and visitors to the town that National Heart Month is the ideal time to think about your own heart health. The national campaign Red for Heart will also raise vital funds for the BHF to help beat the nation’s biggest killer. Councillor Angela Claydon, Mayor of Ellesmere Port, joined local family the Palins, who have two children with a genetic heart disease, to mark the occasion as the lights were switched on for the first time. Cllr Claydon said: “Heart disease is a very important issue which affects a great number of people and I am proud and delighted to be able to take part in such a worthwhile event.
