These townships are divided into three categories, based on size, provision of and proximity to services. Towns Bright, Mount Beauty/Tawonga South, Myrtleford. Eighty percent of the Shires population is concentrated in and around these three major towns. They have access to a full complement of physical and community infrastructure and services, a wide range of accommodation, higher order commercial and retail facilities and outstanding recreational opportunities. They each have a village feel and amenity with distinct township boundaries. Villages Bogong, Dederang, Dinner Plain, Harrietville, Porepunkah, Tawonga, Wandiligong. The majority of these villages comprise the catchment for the three main towns of Bright, Mount Beauty and Myrtleford. Porepunkah and part of Tawonga has reticulated sewerage and sewerage treatment is presently being investigated in Harrietville. No other villages are identified in the current Water Plan for investigation of sewerage treatment. They also have limited commercial and community facilities but they generally have a distinct character and physical form. Dinner Plain is an exception to this categorisation due to its alpine location and nature of occupancy and is discussed in Clause 21.03-7.     5 DAYS 4 NIGHTS AUTUMN IN BRIGHT TRIP Day 1: Melbourne to Myrtleford Departing Melbourne at 7.00AM, we commence our spectacular 5-day scenic holiday in the Alpine Area of Bright country town renowned for its magnificent avenue of trees which are flaming red, golden and copper in autumn and is also the gateway to Victoria’s Snowfields. We shall stop for morning tea (included) at Euroa, followed by a stop at Milawa Brown Brothers for a Wine Tasting Tour around 12.00 pm including lunch (a seasonal 2-course meal with matching wines) at the restaurant Patricia’s Table. After lunch, we drive along the snow road and through the Ovens Valley. We stop to look at the Phoenix Tree, which was carved out of the trunk and roots of a huge River Red Gum. We then check into our motel and take some time to relax and explore the many facilities that are on offer and freshen up for a light dinner at a local restaurant. (Including Morning Tea, Wine Tasting, 2-course Lunch with wine & Dinner) Day 2: Mt Buffalo/Bright/Milawa After a hearty breakfast, we head off towards one of the Alpine Regions, Mt Buffalo. As we wind our way up the mountain and take it in the beautiful surroundings and its history. Once on top of the mountain, we will visit the “Grand Old Lady” - the Buffalo Chalet where we have our morning tea break. We then head towards Bright as we drive through the area and viewing those spectacular autumn leaves just before our lunch stop with enough time to explore the township of Bright.
