Centro de Lenguas Modernas – Universidad de Granada - Syllabus Hispanic Studies Course SPANISH ART (FROM THE BAROQUE TO THE PRESENT DAY) General description The course is a synthesis to consider only the essential aspects of Spanish art from the Baroque to the present-day. The classes will feature the necessary means of audiovisual aids, slides, videos, etc so that the student will identify the works of art and their environment. Granada, a city of great artistic wealth, enables the students also to visit monuments for first-hand knowledge of works of art which are fundamental to the evolution of Spanish art. The artistic preparation of the students can be enriched and completed with trips to nearby Andalusian cities: Seville, Córdoba, which are also outstanding in the wealth of their artistic heritage. Furthermore, students are recommended to visit other cities –farther away – however, especially significant because of their artistic value or the importance of their museums; Madrid, Barcelona, Toledo, Ávila, Salamanca or Santiago de Compostela, amongst others. En primeiro lugar, sublíñase a súa condición de intelectual ilustrado, de crea- dor literario e de profesional no campo do dereito e da economía pesqueira. Tamén, en segundo termo, a súa traxectoria política marcada polo ideario ga- leguista e por unha concepción civilista da práctica política, tanto nos tempos da II República como durante os anos da transición da ditadura franquista á democracia. Da súa obra de pensador e analista económico, repárase na orixi- nal reflexión condensada no libro Galicia como tarea, un grande esforzo inte- lectual que supera a tradición teórica do galeguismo de pre-guerra, ao colocar o centro de gravidade da idea de Galicia nos aspectos cívicos, como unha “tarea” que os galegos han de “hacer o rehacer todos los días”. E, finalmente, ofrécense unhas breves referencias da súa presenza en América Latina, dos contactos co exilio republicano e da consideración do galego, en tanto que irmán do portugués, como lingua transcontinental. Abstract: This paper makes an overall approach to the biography of Valentín Paz-Andrade, in its lights and shadows, from different perspectives. Centro de Lenguas Modernas – Universidad de Granada – Syllabus Hispanic Studies SPANISH ART (RENAISSANCE AND BAROQUE) General description This subject deals with the study of the forms of artistic expression in Spain between the 16th and end of the 18th centuries, in two differentiated blocks: Renaissance Art and Baroque Art. The analysis of these two blocks explains the main lines of artistic expression of the period and their evolution, giving attention – for reasons of brevity – to the principal figures of each epoch. The specific aims of the subject are, on the one hand, to understand the essential trends of Spanish artistic expression of the Modern Age, integrating them in their historical, social and ideological context; on the other hand, to develop the linguistic competence of the student in the Spanish language. Digitizing Galicia: Cultural Policies and Trends in Cultural Heritage Management Ekaterina Volkova University of Auckland Abstract: Cultural policies have developed in Galicia significantly since the establishment of the 1981 Statute of Galician Autonomy. The Galician government has played a key role in the Galician cultural scene. However, the civil and, especially, private sectors have made a substantial contribution to the promotion of different areas of Galician culture. This arti- cle presents an overview of Galician cultural policies focusing on the area of cultural herit- age management in the global era, particularly on the uses of new information and commu- nication technologies and digitization. Galicia dixital: Políticas culturais e tendencias na xestión do legado cultural Resumo: En Galicia, as políticas culturais desenvolvéronse de maneira significativa desde o establecemento do Estatuto de Autonomía de Galicia de 1981. O goberno galego veu xo- gando un papel fundamental na escena cultural. Porén, os sectores civil e, nomeadamente, o privado fixeron contribucións substanciais na promoción de diferentes áreas da cultura galega. Este artigo ofrece unha panorámica das políticas culturais centrándose no ámbito da xestión do legado cultural na era global, particularmente no referente ao emprego das novas tecnoloxías da información e a comunicación e dixitalización.
