Later, when the concern failed, Mr. Carleton became the owner and for years conducted the business on Congress Street. His widow is his only Immediate survivor. Restored BATH - Colin R. Carlisle, 59, of 53 Lemont St., died Sunday at a Portland hospital. He was born in Charlotte, Aug. 17, 1918, the son of Herbert and Mabel Rediker Carlisle. Mr. Carlisle was educated in Charlotte schools and moved to Bath in 1942. He served in the U.S. Army in 1941. He worked for the Bath Iron Works during World War U and from 1952 until March of thisJear. He was a member of Solar Hasonie Lodge, F. and A.M. of Bath, a member and past high priest of Montgomery and St. Bernard Royal Arch Cha~ter No. 2 of Bath. He beloiged to the Merrymeeting Shrine Club, the Knights Templar of Bath and Kora Shrine Temple of Lewiston. He was a member and past patron of Genesta Chapter, the Order of Eastern Star of Bath. Mr. Carlisle was a father advilor of the DeMolay of Bath and attended Codiff Street Baptist Church. C •.fl I • " ~ He was married to the former Barbara McMann Carlisle of Bath. I He was a charter member of the westbrook Commandery of the Unlt­ 1 ~d Order of Golden Cross and had been keeper of the records ever since its inception with the exception of two years. He was the grand keeper or records of the Grand Command­ ery of the U. 0. G. c. of the State 30 years. He was a m('mber of the Westbrook school board 15 years, being endorsed by both parties. He served as city auditor two years under Mayor Rufus Jordan. He was associated with the S. D. Warren Company 53 years. He is survived by his wife, Mn. Georgia Ordway . Carll; two childre~. Mr.s. He was born Aug. 24, 1908 in Westbrook, son of Mrs. Mary Ellis Turner of New Gloucester and the late Eugene Carll. Mr. Carll was a member of Presumpscot Lodge, AF • AM, of North Windham; Sebago Lodge, Knights o! Pythias, and the Toll Engineers Union of Portland. Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by three daugh­ ters, Mrs. Patricia Maxwell of Gray, Mrs. Nancy Hill of Wind­ hapt and Mrs. Suzanne Frank of West Gray; two brothers, Henry ICarll of North Yarmouth and Richard Carll of New Glouces­ ter, and nine grandchildren. Forest "Stubby'' Carlton, 84, of Middle Road died Monday at a Fannington hospital. He was stricken while on a senior citizens' faU foliage tour. Born in Woolwich, he was a son of Clarence and Lucy Day Carlton. He attended local schools and gJ:_adui!ted from Morse High &hool in 1925. 1~ -t"-lf'O Mr. Carlton was employed in the logging and lumber business here and in Georgetown for several years. He also owned and operated a service station on U.S. Route 1 here for 10 years. He retired in 1970 from Bath Iron Works, where he had been a carpenter for 4.2 years. In 1931, he married Charlotte Sylvester, who died in 1969. He manied Helen Safford Soule in 1971. She died in March 1986. Mr. Carlton had spent winters in Zephyrhills, Fla., for the past 18 years. He was a past master of Lincoln Lodge oC Masons, I Wiscasset, and a member of Scottish Rile of Lewiston and Valley oC Portland. He was a former member ollhe Woolwich Grange and a member or the Bath Senior Citizens and the Coasters. Surviving are a daughter, Beverty Wright of Woolwich; ·a brother, Frank Carlton of Arrowsic; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. , A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Mayo, Curtis and Hill Funeral Home, 819 High St, Bath. Remarka Malcolm W. Carlton Marine veteran of WWll in Pacific SHAPLEJGH - Malcolm W. Carlt.on, 68, of Square Pond died Wednesday at H.D. Goodall Hospital in Sanford after a brief illness. I He was born in Sanford, a son or Kenneth E. and Lois , Allen Carlton. He grdduated from Sanford High School in 1944. Mr. Carlton served in the Marine Corps in the South Pacific from 1945 to 1946. He was employed by the former Goodall Sanford , Textile Mills. He then worked for 31 years at Portsmouth . Naval Shipyard as a machinist and later as a planner and estimator, retiring in 1983. He was a member of the American Legion Post., Sanford, the Springvale Masonic Lodge and several other Masonic organizations. He was also a member of the Province Lake Country · Club, and enjoyed golf. hunting. fishing and cooking. Surviving are his wife, Nancy Carlt.on; two sons, I John and David, both of Shapleigh; a daughter, Karen Blaisdell of Springvale; two brothers, Ford of Alfred and James or Sudbury, Mass.; and three grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in Riverside Cemetery, Springvale. The Rev. Bryan Jessup will officiate. Arrangements are by Heald Funeral Home, Springval~.
