If you seek inspiring journeys and enjoying experiencing new ways of life, then one of these itineraries may well be the trip you are looking for. Our clients are drawn from a broad span of age ranges and backgrounds, but all have a passion for exploring the destinations they visit. Some travel as a couple, or with family members and friends; others solo. But they all value the sense of discovery and knowledge-building on a TransIndus tour, and the conviviality that comes with travelling as part of a group – swapping stories, impressions and photos at meal times and enjoying stimulating conversation with like-minded people while on the road. 6 Group Tours by TransIndus The Upsides of Travelling in a Small Group Lower costs Small group travel is more easily affordable. Because we book the accommodation and vehicles so far in advance, we’re able to offer our trips at a generous discount. Small groups We maintain a maximum group size of 16, which means you never have to travel in one of those large parties trailing behind a guide waving a flag! Escorted travel All of our trips are accompanied by a knowledgeable, qualified, well-trained, English-speaking tour leader/guide, usually drawn from the country you’re travelling in, who will be available to you 24/7. Smooth Travel With the exception of Japan (where most of our trips rely on the country’s excellent, good value public transport system), TransIndus group tours are primarily conducted in private, air-conditioned, chauffeur-driven vehicles. Trains, however, may be used where they enhance the experience, and domestic flights to cover longer distances. Flexibility On a TransIndus group tour, you are never obliged to join in the day’s planned excursions or activities, and can explore alone and at your own pace, or simply laze back at the hotel, if you prefer. Extra nights may also be added at the beginning or end of your group tour as desired. Comfortable accommodation Wherever possible we use small, good value heritage hotels in central locations. Quality food We know how important eating well is on holiday, which is why we create opportunities for you to taste authentic local cuisine rather than binding you to hotel meals. Breakfast is, of course always included as are some lunches and dinners on special occasions. Extension options Group tours follow a fixed itinerary but you can personalise your holiday by adding pre- and post-tour extensions. Recommended options appear alongside each tour featured in this brochure. Scheduled flights Our tours are planned without international flights, giving you the flexibility to choose your preferred airline, departure airport and cabin class. However, if you would like us to organise your flights we would be happy to do so, and we will only use reputable airlines. Private Travel Option If you are keen on a more personal experience as a couple or with family and friends, we would be happy to set up a private departure to fit your preferred dates. You will enjoy private chauffeur-driven vehicles, exclusive use of English-speaking private guides, and have scope to upgrade accommodation or tweak the sightseeing schedule to suit your interests. T | 0208 566 3739 E | [email protected] 7 Accommodation in Asia Finding great places for our clients to stay is at the heart of what we do as a company and we put a great deal of effort identifying the best accommodation choices. The small heritage properties and centrally-located hotels we choose are designed to make your experience more pleasurable and provide convenient access to principal sights. We check the quality of every property to ensure they meet our exacting standards for cleanliness, service delivery, health safety. In remote regions and destinations where tourism is still in its infancy, availability of rooms can be limited but we nevertheless endeavour to always use the best accommodation available. All city-based hotel rooms have private en-suite bathrooms, air-conditioning and heating. Most have at least one restaurant and usually a bar. Other leisure facilities might include a gym, swimming pool and spa. Some larger hotels may additionally offer a foreign exchange, business centre and complimentary WiFi. Suggestions for hotel upgrades are offered with every tour, and we our consultants would be happy to discuss these in more detail with you. 8 Group Tours by TransIndus Asia on a plate Discovering regional specialities is one of the great joys of travelling around Asia, and there is a great diversity across the continent. Whether it be the refined Mughlai cuisine in north India or a delicate coconut-based, fresh seafood dishes in the south, Vietnamese street food, Chinese hotpot or the sophisticated sushi of Japan, we encourage you tour clients to sample authentic local experience some real local food wherever possible, recommending local restaurants.

Therefore, shortages of raw materials and increasing damages to natural environment has made many scientific fields to think of the ways decreasing such a risk. Accordingly, sustainability concepts and sustainable development has come to agenda in diverse fields as well as architecture in recent decades. Although sustainability seems to be a new concern in diverse fields as well as architecture, by analyzing some of historical constructions constructed by our predecessors many centuries ago, we can see that such a concept has a long history and a rich background in vernacular and traditional architecture. Studying the valuable achievements of predecessors, which are the result of accumulated experience based on elaborately knowing their nature, can be guiding in deciding for appropriate usage of technology in a sustainable way. In this research, values of sustainable design is handled regarding Iranian traditional and vernacular architecture focusing on two popular rural areas with a rich historical and architectural background called Abyaneh village located in central part of Iran with a hot and arid climate and Masouleh located in northern part of Iran.

Afternoon: visiting Niavaran Palace and Bazaar e Tajrish and Enanzadeh Saleh mausoleum. O/N: Tehran. The Niavaran Complex is a historical complex situated in Shemiran, Tehran (Greater Tehran), Iran. The complex traces its origin to a garden in Niavaran region, which was used as a summer residence by Fath-Ali Shah of the Qajar Dynasty. A pavilion was built in the garden by the order of Naser ed Din Shah of the same dynasty, which was originally referred to as Niavaran House, and was later renamed Saheb Qaranie House. The pavilion of Ahmad Shah Qajar was built in the late Qajar period. During the reign of the Pahlavi Dynasty, a modern built mansion namedNiavaran House was built for the imperial family of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. All of the peripheral buildings of the Saheb Qaranie House, with the exception of the Ahmad Shahi Pavilion, were demolished, and the buildings and structures of the present-day complex were built to the north of the Saheb Qaranie House. In the Pahlavi period, the Ahmad Shahi Pavilion served as an exhibition area for the presents from world leaders to the Iranian monarchs. Im?mz?deh S?leh is one of many Im?mzadeh mosques in Iran. • A Modern Archaeology of the Sasanian Period: Former Limitations and New Perspectives
Newsletter di Archeologia CISA, Volume 7, 2016, pp. 35-88 A MODERN ARCHAEOLOGY OF THE SASANIAN PERIOD: FORMER LIMITATIONS AND NEW PERSPECTIVES Bruno Genito, Università degli Studi di Napoli “L’Orientale” Introduction* It is never easy to handle theoretical and methodological issues arising from a particular scientific topic in a kind of review of studies, which is, in its way, what is being presented here. Studies of the archaeology of the Sasanian period have been the subject of numerous acute and critical comments by distinguished scholars in the past, including Huff (1986, 302-308) and more recently as well (1998-2011). Those issues which have been handled, too, have clearly always somewhat suffered from a complex of inferiority to other periods of the history of ancient Iran which are considered by far, the most formative and important: the Achaemenid and the Islamic eras. And this in spite of the fact that the majority of scholars have looked upon the period in question as a real golden age of Persian culture and art, and that it was quite often mentioned in later Islamic sources (including the Shah-nameh by Firdousi), as in many ways an apogee of the fabulous, formidable and legendary Persian Empires. For many scholars the archaeology of the Sasanian period and also that of the early Islamic period, as Whitcomb rightly has pointed out (2010, 5), has always been considered a part of history, and especially of the history of art. This classification, set in stone, has had a long and respectable tradition so far, but at last it has begun to be seen from a different perspective by a growing number of scholars.
