Rocking and romance Jonathan Richman is simultaneously the most underappreciated and influential, misunderstood and dearly-loved rocker of the last ten years. Depending on how seriously you take popular music, Jonathan and his band, the Modern Lovers, is either the freshest voice in music or just a rock and roll geek. To some, Jonathan and the Lovers are the epitome of syrupy nerd-rock, singing about Springtime, flowers and insects. But Jonathan Richman has emerged as one of the founding fathers of the new music scene of the late!70s.
