Under normal circumstances, the league usually kicks off early September. This delayed kickoff was attributed to the COVID- 19 pandemic and the subsequent government lockdown. The league was scheduled to end on Wednesday 30th June 2021. However, the league was declared concluded on Tuesday 29th June 2021 due to the second wave of COVID 19 Pandemic and the government lockdown in force, among other reasons. The league was concluded in line with article 18(1) (c) & (d) of the FUFA Competitions Rules (Failure to complete the league due to force majeure situation). Fixture Stability: In 2020/21 the UPL Secretariat only made two (2) adjustments to the fixture compared to eight (8) in 2019/20 Season. Our Goal is to have a more stable fixture which runs the entire season without adjustments unless circumstances beyond our control dictate otherwise.
