Our pupils had a day they will never forget when they met Britain’s tallest man who is also the World’s tallest basketball player! Paul Sturgess, 7ft 7in, and a former Harlem Globe Trotter, spoke to the whole school about his life and career. He talked about a positive outlook and embracing differences – he is obviously very different to most people but he has made this work to his advantage. October “The term is underway” Students visit Springfield House Our children regularly visit Springfield House and interact with the residents. “The best part of the visit was when I got to teach them how to sing and dance to ‘Baby Shark’. It was fun. We taught them a dance routine and some boxing techniques.” Megan 8SF Food for The Well To support our whole school curriculum driver of Courageous Advocacy we decided in November to support The Well Food Bank in Wolverhampton by putting together food parcels that will be sent out to those families that need some extra support over the Christmas period. Our first charity event of the school year. Preparations for the first match……….. Harvest Festival in St Mary’s Church Thursday 10th October 2019 Dudley Zoo Visit All of Year 6 had the opportunity to visit Dudley Zoological Gardens. As part of their science lessons, they have been learning about classification of animals so they took part in a workshop to enhance their learning. A chinchilla, parrot, tarantula and cockroach were among the creatures they were able to observe closely and even hold or touch. November Year 5’s residential to Standon Bowers The first race of the season Remembrance Day at Brewood Year 7 Visit National Memorial Arboretum Warwick Castle Year 7 visit On Wednesday 20th November 2019, Year 7 visited Warwick Castle. Our first activity was the Time Tower, where we sat in an old Anglo-Saxon style room. In the room were two projectors which told us stories of the darker sides of Warwick Castle. We then moved upstairs to a 3D model of a tiny Warwick Castle that changed colour and had little animations throughout the experience. Finally, we ended up in a room where paintings on the wall spoke to us about the Royals who previously fought and lived around the castle. Year 5 Visit to Standon Bowers On Wednesday 13th November, 85 Year 5 pupils set off for their first Brewood residential at Standon Bowers Outdoor Centre. Armed will woolly hats, thick coats we braved the wilds of Cotes Heath for 3 days of team building and outdoor pursuits. Pupils took part in a range of activities including Archery, Den Building, Bouldering, Grounds Maps, Caving and Team Building activities collecting points for their teams. December “The calendar year nears it’s end” Year 5 Black Country Museum 2019 Community Christmas Lunch Community Christmas Lunch—Wednesday 11th December Christmas Carol Service Merits Awards Day January “A Happy New Year” Bikeability – levels 1, 2 and 3 Sports Hall Athletics – Year 5 & 6 February Sports Hall Athletics Competition On Monday 27th January 2020 we went to Aldersley Leisure centre for a Sports-Hall Athletics Competition. We competed with four other local schools which consisted of: Codsall Middle; Perton Middle; Penkridge Middle and Bilbrook Middle. Year 7 & 8 teams gave great performances with multiple pupils winning their events. Wolgarston Dance Festival Brewood Grammar School Old Boy’s Dinner March “Spring at last “ Table Tennis Club Languages Day April Easter Performance at St Dominic's On the afternoon of Wednesday 10th April, Year 5 went to St Dominic’s Grammar School for an Easter celebration. Nine pupils were tasked with performing to other schools to present a news report illustrating the events of Good Friday Easter Church Service May Salters Institute Festival of Chemistry Keele University On 9th May 2019 four students from Year 8, Lucy, Claudia, Alisdair and Dharam took part in 'Salter Institute Festival of Chemistry at Keele University. June Kwik Cricket Festival at Himley Cricket Club Bush Craft Campout Islamic Exhibition On the 20th June 2019, we went to an Islamic Exhibition in Birmingham. We were made very welcome. They taught us lots of different things about their religion We did activities like word searches and mandala and they gave us chocolate. Before we had a tour of the information centre, we learned about the 5 Pillars, Shadadah, Namaz, Roza, Zakat and Haj. July Careers Day 2019 Sports Day 2019 Rocket Building with Mrs Kimber End of Term Bowling Party.

The applicant has not taken into account db symmetry’s proposals which are coming forward for the Hinckley National Rail Freight Interchange (HNRFI) at junction 2 of the M69. This scheme is considered to be a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project (NSIP). It should be noted that this proposal is located within 5 miles of Nuneaton which is in the West Midlands. On this basis the Hinckley proposal is perfectly positioned to absorb a percentage of the capacity deemed to be essential at Four Ashes to service the Arc of the West Midlands. Accordingly, the scale of the West Midlands Interchange could be decreased. Paragraph 2.1 (b) states that the need for a SRFI development in this quadrant of the West Midlands has been identified since, at least, 2004. Identified by the Strategic Rail Authority 2004, the Strategic Rail Authority, West Midlands Regional Logistics Study; and successive drafts of the West Midlands Regional Spatial strategy which included conclusions of the appointed Examining Panel.

Licence no. 100019422 Map 2: CVHECZ 1 Refined HLC and HER data 1.1.1 Statement of heritage significance The lines of two Roman roads pass less than 200m either side of the zone and the Scheduled Roman forts and settlement of Pennocrucium and the Roman villa at Engleton lie 3km to the north and north west respectively. Prehistoric activity within Staffordshire survives within the river valleys where it lies sealed beneath the alluvium. Consequently it is possible that prehistoric activity may be located within the zone associated with the confluence of the rivers Penk and Saredon, although none to date is recorded on the Staffordshire HER. The historic landscape character of the western portion of the zone is dominated by field systems within the floodplain of the rivers Penk and Saredon whose confluence lie in this area (cf. Map 2). The origins of the field system are currently unknown, but it is possible that this area had provided meadow land during the medieval period. The Map 2 shows ‘Post 1880s Reorganised Piecemeal Enclosure’ to the east of the zone which relates to an earlier field system probably enclosed incrementally in the 16 th or 17 th century 1.
