Paul Sturgess, 7ft 7in, and a former Harlem Globe Trotter, spoke to the whole school about his life and career. Our children regularly visit Springfield House and interact with the residents.

“The best part of the visit was when I got to teach them how to sing and dance to ‘Baby Shark’. It was fun. We taught them a dance routine and some boxing techniques.”

To support our whole school curriculum driver of Courageous Advocacy we decided in November to support The Well Food Bank in by putting together food parcels that will be sent out to those families that need some extra support over the Christmas period. Thursday 10th October 2019 Zoo Visit

All of Year 6 had the opportunity to visit Dudley Zoological Gardens. As part of their science lessons, they have been learning about classification of animals so they took part in a workshop to enhance their learning. A chinchilla, parrot, tarantula and cockroach were among the creatures they were able to observe closely and even hold or touch. On Wednesday 20th November 2019, Year 7 visited Warwick Castle. Our first activity was the Time Tower, where we sat in an old Anglo-Saxon style room. In the room were two projectors which told us stories of the darker sides of Warwick Castle. We then moved upstairs to a 3D model of a tiny Warwick Castle that changed colour and had little animations throughout the experience. Finally, we ended up in a room where paintings on the wall spoke to us about the Royals who previously fought and lived around the castle. Year 5 Visit to Standon Bowers On Wednesday 13th November, 85 Year 5 pupils set off for their first Brewood residential at Standon Bowers Outdoor Centre.

Armed will woolly hats, thick coats we braved the wilds of Cotes Heath for 3 days of team building and outdoor pursuits. Pupils took part in a range of activities including Archery, Den Building, Bouldering, Grounds Maps, Caving and Team Building activities collecting points for their teams. On Monday 27th January 2020 we went to Aldersley Leisure centre for a Sports-Hall Athletics Competition.

We competed with four other local schools which consisted of: Middle; Middle; Middle and Bilbrook Middle.

On 9th May 2019 four students from Year 8, Lucy, Claudia, Alisdair and Dharam took part in 'Salter Institute Festival of Chemistry at Keele University. June Kwik Cricket Festival at Cricket Club Bush Craft Campout Islamic Exhibition On the 20th June 2019, we went to an Islamic Exhibition in Birmingham. We were made very welcome. They taught us lots of different things about their religion We did activities like word searches and mandala and they gave us chocolate. Before we had a tour of the information centre, we learned about the 5 Pillars, Shadadah, Namaz, Roza, Zakat and Haj.
