Like every year before, the networks promised to deliver their best schedules, ever. Recurring themes around time travel, the supernatural and procedural dramas continue to populate the U.S. schedules with some big name producers lending their talents to program development. Also returning are some familiar faces. At the same time, Canadian broadcasters were in Los Angeles bidding against one another to secure programming that they believe will deliver Canadian audiences. These schedules will be revealed in the coming weeks in the Canadian version of the Upfronts. We expect rampant programming changes, time-period shifts, new series cancellations and mid-season launches will continue to create a viewing environment that is as volatile as ever. With remotes in hand, viewers will be searching for a quick fix of entertainment. Canadian networks will continue to manipulate their schedules as they respond to the changes made in the U.S. in an attempt to maintain as much simulcast programming as possible. The following provides you with a first glimpse of the new programming U.S. networks will be offering viewers this season. Included are the fall lineups and program descriptions for ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox and the CW. Full pilots were not available to view so we have not been able to develop a point of view on potential, hits, misses or survivors.
