Exclusive Opportunity for BC Hospitality Students The BC Hospitality Foundation (BCHF) wishes to extend an exclusive invitation to students recognized by deans, department heads, and faculty for their academic standing and commitment to a career in the hospitality industry. One student per school is eligible to be recognized as a future leader in the industry. Student selection criteria: Each school is asked to determine an internal process for select a deserving student. We’re looking for future industry leaders with demonstrated capabilities and promise! We ask that the selected student have the intention to remain in British Columbia for their career or at least the first TWO years. Qualifications: a) Be registered in an eligible BC hospitality program. These include Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, and Hotel & Restaurant Management at the following institutions: • Camosun College • Royal Roads University • Capilano University • Selkirk College • College of the Rockies • Thompson Rivers University • Douglas College • University of the Fraser Valley • Fairleigh Dickinson University • University of Victoria • North Island College • Vancouver Island University b) Be in the final year of their program, with expected graduation in 2021. Process: Deans/program chairs and faculty at the above institutions can choose one student to be recognized by the BCHF. Student information should be sent by email to Lucy at the BCHF ([email protected]) prior to Wednesday, March 31, 2021. Please provide the student’s full name, contact information (phone number and email addresses) as well as identifying their program name and year. Students should also provide BCHF with a 250-word bio, including their career ambitions and a professional-looking photo. Plans will be made after March 31, 2021 to have the students awarded their dollars by a scholarship sponsor, a BCHF member or the school itself. Students will be asked to supply a photo, their bio and approve sharing this information on our website, with the scholarship sponsor and on social media. WILD Battle at the Border Basketball Challenge
WILD Battle at the Border Basketball Challenge Mt Baker Sr. Girls Basketball are excited to host the 2nd Annual College Basketball Tournament, September 23-25, 2016 at College of the Rockies. This year there are 6 women’s teams coming to play; Augustana University (Edmonton), Concordia University (Edmonton), Ambrose University (Calgary), St Mary’s University (Calgary), Capilano University (North Vancouver) and Camosun College (Victoria). We are excited to host these teams and create an event that will continue to grow for the future. We also want to make it as economical as possible and to engage our elementary students. Students will get into the games free if they wear the colours of one of the competing teams (a list of team colours is below). DAREN the Lion be there dressed up in Mt Baker WILD clothing and bringing excitement to the gym. There will be halftime entertainment and give-aways throughout the tournament. A day pass for adults is $10 and a tournament pass is $20. Here are the assigned colour for the schools (there are two white teams but they will not play each other): Augustana University Red Concordia University Yellow Capilano University White Ambrose University Black Camosun College White St Mary’s University Blue We are hoping you can deliver the message to your students so they are aware of the free event available to them.
