Alice Em Correntes Nutshell Letras T Alice em correntes nutshell letras t Continue Song of Alice in the chains NutshellPesss alice in the chain of the album Jar of FliesReleased25 January 1994 (album release)Recorded1993StudioLondon BridgeGenre Acoustic rock alternative rock grunge Length4:19LabelColumbiaComposer (s)Mike Inez, Jerry Cantrell and Sean Kinnillirikist (s)Layne StaleyProducer (s) Alice in Chains, Toby Wright Temple: 68 bpm Nutshell - Alice's song In Chains, which originally appeared on the extended game of the band Jar of Flies in 1994. Nutshell is also known for opening the band's performance on MTV Unplugged in 1996. This performance of the song was included in the music bank compilation (1999), as well as The Essential Alice in Chains (2006). Since 2011, guitarist/vocalist Jerry Cantrell has dedicated Nutshell to late original members Alice at Chains Lane Staley and Mike Starr during the band's concerts. The lyrics were written by vocalist Lane Staley, and the music was written by bassist Mike Ines, guitarist/vocalist Jerry Cantrell and drummer Sean Kinney. Bassist Mike Ines said of Nutshell when asked which song makes him think of Lane Staley the most: I think No.1 for me is Nutshell. Lane was very honest with his songwriting. And in Nutshell, he really put everything in a nutshell for everyone. This song still makes me gasp every time I play it. I get a little teary-eyed, and sometimes when we do arena runs especially, they'll have some video footage of Lane. And I watch and see Jerry (Cantrell, vocals and guitar) and Sean (Kinney, drums) looking the wrong way. We don't look at the audience, we look back at Lane and it's pretty cool that there's still this song for us. Yes, it's just sad. Although it has never been released as a single, it is one of Alice's most famous songs in Chains. The song features an emotional acoustic instrument and an electric guitar solo, as well as dark lyrics dedicated to loneliness, despair and death. The lyrics are also seen as an expression of Staley's frustration at the lack of privacy. It is considered a staple of alternative rock of the 1990s, despite not hitting any U.S. Billboard charts or any charts around the world. In 2013, Nutshell ranked 9th in Rolling Stone's 10 Sadest Songs of All Time reader survey. In 2014, the song was ranked 5th on Loudwire's list of the 10 Best Songs by Alice in Chains. On September 22, 1993, Alice performed the song for the first time at the Kansas City Memorial Hall. The band performed an acoustic version of Nutshell for their appearance on MTV Unplugged on April 10, 1996. It was the opening song of the concert and was included in the live album Unplugged and home video release. The Unplugged concert was the last time the band performed a song with Lane Staley. With as long as Jerry Cantrell dedicates Nutshell to Lane Staley and Mike Starr during Alice In Chains concerts with new vocalist William Duvall. During a concert at the Hellfest Open Air Festival in Clisson, France, on June 24, 2018, Cantrell dedicated the song to his longtime friend and Pantera drummer Vinnie Paul, who died two days before the concert. Cover versions of the song were covered by numerous bands, including Staind, who included a live version of Nutshell on their album of greatest hits. In 2006, Shinedown and Seether covered the song together. Adema covered Nutshell in her 2002 EP Insomniac's Dream. Corey Taylor, lead singer of Slipknot and Stone Sour, also played an acoustic version of the song. HURT performed an acoustic cover, opening its concert at Layne Staley Tribute in 2008. The instrumental version was recorded by Ukrainian pianist Victoria Ermaleva in the 2000s. Sally Erna of Godsmack performed the song during a solo tour in 2013, dedicating it to a number of famous musicians who left a great legacy after they died with their names displayed on the projector screen while he was playing the song. Names including Jim Morrison, Kurt Cobain, Dimebag Darrell, Freddie Mercury, Jimi Hendrix, Amy Winehouse, Elvis Presley, John Lennon, Frank Sinatra, Michael Jackson, Bon Scott, and AIC own Lane Staley to name a few. American alternative country artist Ryan Adams released a limited edition cover in 2011. City and Colors frontman Dallas Green covered the song in 2013. In popular culture, Nutshell was released as downloadable content for the music video game Rocksmith on December 12, 2017 as part of the Alice In Chains Song Pack II, which also includes hits Rooster, No Excuses, Down in a Hole and Heaven Beside You. You can help Wikipedia by expanding it.vte Received from (song) oldid'973169689 In the grunge universe there is a holy trinity formed by Nirvana, Soungarden and Alice in chains. I leave Pearl Jam for absolutely personal crters. The first group died of the death of Kurt Cobain; The feud forced Soundgarden to end and return without the same brilliance and impossibility of Chris Cornell's return, as he also died. And the tragic end of Lane Staley should sound like Alice's obligatory resignation. But no! The heaviest and densest bands of the generation that updated the rock from Seattle are still alive with vocalist William Duvall, in honor of the front line of the quartet along with Jerry Cantrell. Jerry Cantrell (Photo: Affonso Nunes) Even tempted to show the album song Rainier Fog, released in August, Alice in Chains took the stage at KM de Vanenstag Hall on Sunday night, knowing that he must deliver to his audience, always faithful, his classic, which awakens in the audience exciting choruses of thousands of voices. It's a cake recipe. It was not possible to escape, but it did not prevent the band from opening up work with Check My Brain, from Black Gives Way to Blue (2009), the first studio album with a new vocalist, who demonstrates his vocal skills and emulates the same sensations that evoke the first works, especially in the murderous sequence formed by Their Bones, Dam That Bone, Hollow and Nutshell in the first half of the presentation. The group is strong and united. Bassist Mike Ines and drummer Sean Kinney give DuVall the support they need to achieve good results on his vocals. And give up. A competent and entropy kitchen house adds to the duVall base guitar. Alice gets a thicker, heavier chain to chart Jerry Cantrell's solo guitar work. The band's lead songwriter and co-vocalist since Staley's time, the musician sometimes seems to shy away from the spotlight. If it does not come to be a virtuoso in an instrument, the only form is, say, economic, without spreading notes on smo. May also not destroy all the time in but solo in Stone and The Basic Man in the Box and The Rooster. In the latter, which closes the encore, spontaneity is hidden. Everything is perfect. But what kicks out the biggest applause of the audience, invariably, riff scans the true musical finds of the 1990s. The audience comes out of the concert, once again convinced that Alice in chains has not reached the point where the established bands become cover bands in themselves. It was a memorable, respectful and mission to move forward. Setlist Check My Brain Again Never Fade Their Bone Dam, That Hollow River Nutshell No excuse we're dying a young stone is not like this man in the box you know? • Marquetry on Drawer-Model Marionette Duo-Art
Marquetry on Drawer-Model Marionette Duo-Art This piano began life as a brown Recordo. The sound board was re-engineered, as the original ribs tapered so soon that the bass bridges pushed through. The strings were the wrong weight, and were re-scaled using computer technology. Six more wound-strings were added, and the weights of the steel strings were changed. A 14-inch Duo-Art pump, a fan-expression system, and an expression-valve-size Duo-Art stack with a soft-pedal compensation lift were all built for it. The Marquetry on the side of the piano was inspired by the pictures on the Arto-Roll boxes. The fallboard was inspired by a picture on the Rhythmodic roll box. A new bench was built, modeled after the bench originally available, but veneered to go with the rest of the piano. • The Semiotics of Internet Celebrity: Gangnam Style Case
Paper The Semiotics of Internet Celebrity: Gangnam Style Case by © Mingyi Hou (Tilburg University) [email protected] © November 2013 The Semiotics of Internet Celebrity: Gangnam Style Case Mingyi Hou Abstract: In academia, celebrity study remains an ever growing interest, especially in media and culture studies. However, few researchers have expanded their scope of exploration to the celebrities who gain stardom across national and cultural borders. The current study considers Psy and his music video Gangnam Style as a site for examining globalized language and cultural contacts. Its primary concern is to investigate Internet celebrity in the context of multimodal media representation and superdiverse semiotic repertoires. The study identified lyrics, beats, dance gestures, characters, objects and places as the major semiotic modes of expression in the video. More meanings are added while they are produced into the materialized forms. Guided by the audiences’ replies to the journalistic commentaries on Gangnam Style, the study found that the music video is a heterogeneous construct, whose semiotic resources are ordered polycentricically to resonate with different audiences. Key words: Gangnam Style, Internet celebrity, semiotic resources, multimodal discourse analysis, online ethnography 1. Introduction The current research considers “Internet celebrity” as a site for studying globalized language and culture contact. Its primary concern is to investigate Internet celebrity from the perspective of superdiverse semiotic repertoire (Blommaert and Rampton, 2011). The first purpose of the research is to identify the various modes such as lyrics and place references employed in the music video. The second purpose is to discern the audiences’ interpretations of the contents of the video ethnographically.
